Being a purse addict presents a woman with many options. Spend lots of money or get creative. Mara Frank, owner and designer of La Vita Lola, uses her creative juices and creates clutches for all of us purse addicts.
Mara, can you share a little bit about your business and how you got started?
I’ve been a purse addict since I was a teenager – and really, the only options for me were to either bankrupt myself from buying so many or to learn how to make my own!
Where do you draw inspiration for your products?
From everywhere and anything. I travel quite frequently and am constantly inspired by everything from architecture to nature to music, etc. I also do a good deal of reading on the fashion industry and trend forecasting, etc.
What products have been your best sellers?
Right now, the skull clutch and the Magnolias clutch.
What are your future plans for La Vita Lola?
I’m hoping to introduce new styles and sizes very soon, and I’m also about to launch a leather collection!

it is funny how “obsession” can lead to a career. One of draws to working in fashion is the great discounts…essential when you are expected to be “fierce” ALL the time.
