The REAL Toy Story | March 20, 2009

I hate shopping. Somehow I am missing that particular female gene. When forced, I make most of my purchases online, which includes children’s presents. This activity generates much unwanted print solicitations in my mailbox. Not only do I get the usual glut of Toys Sure “R” Expensive (as Dave Barry says) glossies, but also the brain-boosting-all-soy-earth-friendly non-denominational offerings on recycled (allegedly) paper since I’m one of those granola-eating-hiking types.

My kids’ birthdays are coming up, and the toy catalogs are arriving like the plague.  Funny that two such catalogs should arrive today because on Sunday I picked up Eric Clark’s investigative … Read More »

The Treadmill Is A Little Like Life | March 20, 2009

We all get so comfortable and used to running on the treadmill of life, that we never stop to decide what we are actually wanting to accomplish. Whatever it may be you have to decide. We can all get preoccupied with running on the treadmill of life…NOT being living consciously, fully present.

Don’t lose sight of your path, too often it goes undiscovered. It can get overgrown with distractions and can become hard to find if our time is spent on too many other things.  Get off the treadmill and just go for it!

After taking care of everyone else, they are always … Read More »

Nail Lacquers by Nubar | March 20, 2009

I tried  Nail Lacquers by Nubar and I really was impressed by the fact that these nail lacquers do not contain formaldehyde, toluene, or phthalate (DBP).  These agents are known to be carcinogenic.  I loved the look of the bottle.  I also liked the way the grip was not slick, but textured, so I could get it open, even with wet nails on the other hand!

I used the Magic Buffer to prep my nails, and it was wonderful! They were so shiny and smooth that I could’ve just put on a clear top coat and been just fine.  These … Read More »

Extra-Rich Serum For Dry & Fragile Neck Lines | March 18, 2009

Extra-Rich Serum for Thinning, Dry & Fragile Neck Lines from Skinn by Demitri James.

As women age the first area to show the advanced signs of damage and time is the neck area. Skinn research shows that the neck area ages in one of two ways: Type A women experience thinning, collapsing brittle skin on the neck that becomes dry and sinks with diminished elasticity (“chicken neck”), or Type B women experience a heavier full neck (“double chin”). Both types of aging necks experience age spots and lines. Skinn responds with two custom formulas in serum strength creams for Type A … Read More »

Mommy Confidence: 8 Easy Steps | March 18, 2009

Does Mommy Have to Do It All to Have it All?

How many times do you get your fingernails or toes nails cleaned, trimmed and painted pretty pink? Not enough I bet.  How many times a week do you go to the store, do laundry or drive to a job?  I’m sure you have a clear answer for that question.

How did we moms fall into the trap of never-ending errands?  If you dare tell me it comes with the territory, I will scream – loudly.  I have a hard time believing that it’s good practice to encourage or expect moms to … Read More »
