This summer, turn your backyard deck from this…
into this… in just (3) easy steps!
Spring is here and now is the time to get ready for outdoor living. You too can make your backyard a summer retreat that will increase your living space for relaxing or entertaining with friends and family.
Step 1. Make a small investment in outdoor furniture. You only need three pieces, a sofa and two chairs but make sure it has cushions and is weather resistant. When needed, use folding chairs or stools for additional seating.
Step 2. Get an outdoor rug that is weather resistant and soft under your feet. Pick one that is colorful and large so that it grounds the space.
Step 3. Add plenty of accessories to make the space warm and inviting. Plants can be inexpensive and add a lot of color throughout the season. Lanterns are a great accent as they can go anywhere and add candlelight for nighttime entertaining. Watering cans are also decorative and practical to help your plants stay looking great all summer long.
So make it comfortable and make it your own space this summer to have fun with friends or just for you on those hot and lazy summer days.

Great job on your first article, Karl. The porch looks fantastic, and you’ve really got me re-thinking wicker!

Karl: What a fabulous transition from an ordinary deck to a very inviting summer room and without the expense of adding a sunroom. I would be just like “Buddy” and never leave that space, not for a squirrel or even a Nordstrom sale. Hudson Goods.com. is my new favorite site.
