Celine Chua was ultimately axed from Lifetime’s hit show Project Runway, but she is still a stunner in our eyes! ChicGalleria.com spent some time talking to Miss Chua and she shared some thoughts on her time spent as one of the “Models of the Runway.”
CG- Tell about yourself and how you got started modeling?
Being a tall girl from sunny Singapore, I was lucky enough to start modeling when I participated in a college pageant, resulting in being the runner up. After working with a smaller agency, I was spotted by another model in a mall food court and ended up signing with Elite Mode Management. I soon entered another competition with Elite, and after the winner was not able to make her obligation, I ended up representing Singapore in the finals in Nice, France. I absolutely loved the experience, and was able to get a lot of runway and editorial experience from it. Still modeling and working on my degree, I graduated and spent a month in Hong Kong. The bustling city was so enjoyable; I ended up staying there for more than a year before I moved to New York and landed myself a great agency.
CG-Tell us who inspires you?
I wouldn’t say anyone in particular inspires me; rather I grew up confident and extremely motivated. I also love different challenges that life brings! Life is short, precious, and I choose to embrace it, and live it to the fullest!
CG-What was favourite thing about being on the show?
I loved the concept of living with all the girls. At first it was torture, with all the personality types in the house. However, we learned to appreciate each other and completely bonded. I appreciated getting to meet new friends through our experiences on the show.
CG-What is your future plan?
I would like to own my own store selling my jewellery and pocketbook designs. I am a very spontaneous person, so who knows when! But those are my plans!
