Fashion week – a time of year that I swoon over. The fashion, glamour, wine, people, models, and the creativity are all various components that run through my veins. I’m filled with joy and adrenaline that week and running on caffeine. Bliss.

This week just past, I had the pleasure of attending Toronto’s LG fashion week displaying Springs 2010 collections.

The collections for this upcoming spring are certainly something for everyone to be excited about! All of the designers were sure to have bold colours splashed throughout their pieces. It was shown in the active wear by “Vata Brasil”. One thing to be certain about – yellow and purple are the trend colours for this upcoming season.

One moment that really sticks out in my mind from fashion week is the, “Vata Brasil” show for active wear. Normally with runway shows, the lights come on, and the models walk up and down the runway.

This was not the case this year.

In a genius move, Vata Brasil used the show as an opportunity to demonstrate how the clothing applies to real life – what a concept! It was brilliant – people came out and performed yoga, hip-hop, dance, fighting, and much more! The music was beautifully timed to the show and captivated everyone so much, that people were clapping and dancing in their seats to the music! In a wonderful twist of events, the audience also had the pleasure of watching various contestants from the show, “So you think you can dance” display the collection while they danced.

I had the pleasure of speaking with some of the contestants from the show, “So you think you can dance” afterward – all of which immensely enjoyed the show, and were happy to be a part of the experience.

At the conclusion of the show, there was a roar of applause from the industry and media. It was really nice to see everyone leave the show with a smile on their face!
