“Life is what happens to us, while we are busy doing other things”.
CLARIFY YOUR IDEAL LIFE!
How do you get from where you are today to where you want to be? Before you ponder the ‘How’, take a long hard look at where you truly want to be!
Think of it like a trip to the hair salon. It goes something like this:
You wake up one day and look in the mirror. ‘Bad Hair Day’? Hmmmm? Now, every woman knows what that feels like.
“I could probably use a trim. Maybe some layers. Are those roots showing already? Maybe I will go for that new highlighting style, I saw in that magazine? Yes, definitely, highlights. But is it really that bad? Nahh! I’m going to hold off for another week or so, maybe when the kids go off to camp. I just can’t commit right now, I can live with it. Just.”
Two weeks later…
“Ok, that’s it. I am not feeling very pretty. The color has faded, the shape is gone and the roots are horrible… I can’t believe I went out like that last night. That’s it, I ‘m calling ‘Rodger’ at the salon right now”!
As you walk into the salon you know precisely what you want. (Or at least what you don’t want and are willing to let ‘Rodger’ fix it for you), and you know exactly how you expect to feel when you walk out the door.
So why should ‘clarifying your life’ be any different? The only difference is that your hair is a necessity – this is clear. Life goals, on the other hand are not always as visually obvious.
What Is Your Vision?
Begin by describing in as much detail as possible the kind of life you want to live. You must know exactly who you are, what you want to do, and where you want to go. In short, you must become CEO of Yourself, Inc. No matter what you are doing you are the CEO of Yourself, Inc. The decisions you make and the actions you take determine the success of the enterprise which is Yourself, Inc.
To create a balanced and successful life, your vision needs to include the following areas: work and career, finances, recreation, health and wellness, relationships, personal goals, and contributions to your community.
Here are a few questions designed to broaden perspectives and widen the lens.
1. What brings me joy and excitement?
2. What does it cost me to “play it safe?”
3. What are my gifts to the world?
4. Whose life is it anyway?
5. When I don’t listen to attentively to someone, what am I listening to instead?
You’re GPS the process of getting from where you are to where you want to be is like using a GPS (Global Positioning System). For the system to work, it simply needs to know where you are and where you want to go. We use our GPS all the time in our boats and cars. So now set some coordinates towards your own vision.
Your GPS figures our where you are now by signals it receives from several satellites and calculates your exact position. When you type in your current position and your destinations, your GPS plots a perfect course for you. Now all you need to do is follow the instructions.
Success in life works the same way. All you have to do is decide where you want to go by clarifying your vision, lock in the destination through goal-setting, affirmations, and visualizations and start moving in the right direction. Your inner GPS will keep unfolding your route as you continue to move forward. In other words, once you clarify your vision, the exact steps will keep appearing along the way.
Moving Forward
Once you have a clear Vision of where you are heading, there are a few principles to keep in mind as you move towards your goals.
1. Take 100 % Responsibility for your life
[You must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself.]
2. Be clear why you’re here
[Learn to get in touch with the silence within yourself and know that everything in life has a purpose.]
3. Decide what you want
[The indispensable first step to getting the things that you want in our life is this: Decide What You Want]
4. Believe
[The number one problem that keeps people from winning is lack of belief in themselves.]
Finally, how do you know if you’re on the right path? The same way you know when you‘re not: You feel it!

That was a very informative and motivating article. I love the idea of thinking of it all as Yourself Inc. Can you offer any more information/articles about #2. Be clear why you’re here (get in touch with the silence within yourself). Cheers!

Greetings Anastasia, thank you so much for sharing.
I would love to share more with you…
No matter whom you are, where you live, how rich you are or what your age is, life happens to all of us! However, we are all different and we need to find your own way. “One size fits all” as they say, does not apply here. There are so many preconceived notions about how life ‘should’ be lived.
Ask yourself these questions. Listen with your ears and your whole body to the answers:
1. Why are you here?
2. What are you meant to do?
3. What do you deeply enjoy doing?
4. What has been you happiest moments in life?
5. Why were they happy?
6. Where would you like to spend most of your time?
7. What can you do best that would be of worth to others?
8. Who are you to other people?
9. What would two or three people in your life say about you?
10. What purpose do they see you fulfilling in their lives?
11. What is it that so many people rely on you for?
12. Who have you been for people?
Answer each question in at least several sentences. Then go back and underline the key words from each sentence and put all of the underlined words on a separate page.
Are there any themes of associations you can make? Are there natural categories that emerged?
Now you’re ready to build your “life purpose statement” from these words and phrases!
Be victorious Anastasia. When we recognize our desire to matter, to make a difference, when we are in touch with the yearning in our hearts and souls to be a contribution to life, we want to be worthy of that charge. We become more aware of our talents, the possibilities that we have to make a difference in the lives around us whether in small daily actions or in large strokes. We feel a part of the world around us and want to do our part to make it a better place. We start to develop our gifts and remove the blocks to being the best person we can be.
Each of us has a personal greatness- and because yours is as unique to you as your fingerprint, no one can tell you want it is. Live Consciously!
Cheers & Hugs!
