I’m all for comfort – I think that in order to feel stylish, you have to feel comfortable while doing it!
However, there is a “trend” with women that needs to stop – Ugg boots and sweat/yoga/pj pants.
I’m not really sure how this look surfaced, but it’s awful. It makes everyone’s legs look stumpy and wide. It’s almost like someone out there was trying to go for a “sloppy/student chic look” – as if there could ever be such a thing.
There are pictures I took from this past weekend of this “trend” on my blog – Horrifying.
Pairing exercise pants, or sweats with Uggs, a chic top and designer purse does not equal a fashionable or relaxed look my friends. It looks awkward, sloppy, and you look like you’re wearing a loaf of bread on your feet.
Fashionable alternative? Try Yoga jeans – VERY comfortable (it feels like wearing pj’s) but they are denim! They’re perfect for running around town or chasing the kids. Cole Haan is also a fabulous alternative for comfortable footwear.
What do you think of Uggs? What do you think of them being paired with sweat/yoga pants?

I think Uggs are, well, uggly. They are in the same class as Crocs to me. Two forms of footwear you will never see on my feet!

I agree wholeheartedly…Uggs and Crocs make no sense to me. Comfort does not have to be ugly!

I couldn’t resist! I hate sweat pants…particularly the ones with elastic around the ankles. I don’t think they look good on anyone! I will wear them around the house (no elastic though!) but I wouldn’t be caught dead out of the house in them! I will also agree with Cole Haan being one of the most comfortable and stylish shoes around. I will also defend my love of my Ugg boots! I have always loved them. I don’t wear them with dresses, cropped pants or any other ensemble that would normally not be paired with a hearty warm boot. They are my favorite thing to wear when I have on jeans and am out running errands on the weekend or taking the dog to the part on an afternoon. I think the only thing that is unstylish is an individual’s inability to know what looks good and works for them. Just because Pamela Anderson can pull off a look doesn’t mean that the rest of us need to rush out and try to emulate it.

As soon as I read the title, I had to read the article! I totally agree and this passed weekend while shopping, I noticed many of people trying these on and buying them! Why?!?!

I myself am a Ugg boot hater!! I think they are oh so uggLY! I agree with Thyme2dream you will NEVER catch me in a pair of uggs or crocs. Two of the uglyest shoes ever. What do people see in them……
