Nissa has been a guest designer of Gen Art at the InStyle Magazine show, has caught the eye of the Saks Corporations’ and has been featured in Women’s Wear Daily as “One to Watch.” I met Nissa and instantly gravitated towards her designs! Continue reading to learn more about her and her jewelry.

When did you start designing jewelry?

I started designing jewelry while still in design school.  I was invited to do a collection for Saks Corporation, which was distributed nationally to their stores.  I made 3,000 bracelets by hand!  It was my first foray into larger scale production.

What inspires you when designing a collection?

I’m very inspired by “forgotten pieces” and their history. Several times a year I conduct what I call aesthetic treasure hunts, where I scour vintage stores and antique malls in search of special pieces to reinvent into new creations. Then I remake them, preserving their original qualities while adding a modern element.

I adore cute jewelry with beachwear.  Which item from your collection do  you think would go best with any bathing suit?

I think the new coral ring or the coral single cuff would be perfect for the beach.

Where can your jewelry be purchased?

What’s next for you and your company?

My jewelry will be carried within the Old Hollywood shop in the new Limelight Marketplace. The space opened on May 7^th in the old Limelight Church that used to be the infamous nightclub of the same name.
