Sex and the City 2: Let Yourself Get ‘Carried’ Away | May 24, 2010

Perhaps it’s my broad shoulders and (overly) hairy arms… maybe it’s my small stature (although I stand by the fact that 5’3″ is, technically, average height for a woman) and wide feet but I’ve never felt like much of a diva. A princess. A girlie girl. Sure, I adore skirts, shoes and shiny things but I tend to admire them from afar, in my stretched-out tees and no-name jeans. I love having pretty toes and tanned skin but I’ve been known to exchange pedicures for baseball cleats and golden skin tone for a black eye (I … Read More »

I am sure several of you have driven through neighborhoods and seen the garage door open and wondered to yourself, what in the world is all in there?  This is a scary statement but oh so very true.

“The U.S. Department of Energy reports that 25-percent of people with two-car garages don’t have room to park any cars inside, and 32-percent only have room for one vehicle.”

Now that we have “cleared the clutter” and did some spring cleaning in our home let’s get our garage declutterd.  Even if you don’t purchase an expensive custom garage storage system and we don’t have … Read More »

How My Art Ended Up on a Bottle of Wine | May 21, 2010

Believe it or not, I had nothing to do with it! I credit my two girlfriends who just happened to meet up at a Dusty Cellars Winery in Camano Island, Washington for a wine tasting at exactly the same time.  After enjoying a few different wines, there seemed to be an instant click with Ryan and Dusty Kramer of Dusty Cellars Winery.  Luckily, one of my girls happened to have a “Shano” purse that gave these folks an idea of what kind of art I created.  How my name came up as a “Must Have” for next year’s image of … Read More »

“Fried” Chicken | May 21, 2010

I’m not a fan of fried chicken. In fact, my mom was a Weight Watchers lecturer while we were growing up so we never really developed a taste for any fried food since she never made it for us.  We do eat a lot of chicken and I’m always looking for new ways to cook it.  I found this recipe when I was looking for recipes that might use gin.  I liked the idea of the crispy crust that wouldn’t taste of grease.

The chicken was really yummy. As advertised, the crust was crispy and the chicken itself was moist and … Read More »

Shop Smarter | May 21, 2010

How many times have you gone shopping, arrived home, put the bags down, started looking through everything and thought, “what did I buy?”  It has happened to the best of us.  I have really learned and taught myself  “how to shop.”  It has taken years to get to this point and of course I have my moments, but we all can shop smarter.

The top 5 reasons we come home with random items we wonder why we purchased are:

1. Women love the thrill of the purchase.

2. The lighting in dressing rooms and mirrors may make the outfit look better … Read More »

Keeping Your Email Under Control | May 20, 2010

Email can be very over whelming and unless you stay on top of it before you know it, you have 1000 emails in your inbox!  To try and stay on top of your email I have a few suggestions.

I like to use a couple of email addresses to help me eliminate the number of emails I receive at one time.  I use one for my business, one for purchasing items on the internet and another for personal use for friends, family, school, church and sports. My purchase emails tends to get most of the junk emails, so I check that … Read More »
