Beehive Hairdos? | May 12, 2010

It’s a bird’s nest, it’s a bee hive, no, it’s a branch and stick chandelier. Twigs and branches that have been recycled and repurposed into cool chandeliers for the home.

It’s important to go green and what better way than to bring the outdoors in with these branch chandeliers. If you like nature, you’ll like these all natural wood branch chandeliers. Although, if you’re looking for a lot of lighting in your room, these chandeliers come equipped with only one lonely light bulb. But who cares, it’s the branches that steal the show. And these chandeliers aren’t small either so make … Read More »

Heat and Your Hair: Products and Tools for Hair That’s Cool | May 12, 2010

Let’s face it, having fabulous hair is a top priority for many women and the products and tools you use on a daily basis make all the difference in the whether you have a ‘don’t’ or a head turning, compliment inducing, do!

If you’re like me, you are guilty of a lot of blow-drying and, in my case, only occasional curling and flat ironing.  Still, any and all heat styling has the potential to damage your locks and we don’t want that, now do we?  Using products that protect your hair during heat styling only makes sense. Two that I am … Read More »

The Life of a Singleton – Adventures in Babysitting | May 11, 2010

As the only one in my social circle who does not have, nor is attempting to conceive, a child I sometimes get asked if I can watch little Bobbi-Sue or Billy-Ray when my friends are in a bind for a sitter and if my schedule permits (and it almost always does) I am more than happy to oblige. Consider me biased but my friends have the cutest, smartest, most well-behaved kids on the face of the planet so I’ll take every chance I get to spend some one-on-one time with them. After all, I’m always looking for an … Read More »

Saving Time and Money with an Organized Pantry | May 11, 2010

If we put our pantry into categories we will be able to know exactly what we have and what we need at the grocery store so we don’t over buy.  I know, I know, same thing different day.  Here are some suggestions for your pantry.  I keep cereal and snacks on lower shelves because I don’t want the boys calling me every two seconds to get them a snack, I want them to be able to get some things on their own so they feel independent and I don’t have to help them every two seconds. Of course this … Read More »

A Fashionista’s Lust for Louboutins | May 11, 2010

A dormant question of mine was awoken this weekend by the flash of a shiny red sole. There they were – a real life pair of black, calf skin (I think), platform Christian Louboutin pumps (on the off chance you don’t know how to read/say that, it’s pronounced lew-boo-tawn, not low-bow-tin). Now, where you come from, maybe a Louboutin sighting is more common than chopsticks at an asian restaurant, but for me, down here in Orlando, Florida, it’s like actually spotting the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. The closest I usually come … Read More »

Jewelry designer Emily Elizabeth Kolins has always been drawn to artistic outlets of expression throughout her life.  Her designs are unique and eye catching. What I truly love is that Emily purposefully designs and prices her jewelry so that women can afford to wear something special and feel beautiful everyday.  Intrigued by her background as a designer I decided to interview Emily to learn more about her and her company.

Did you always know you wanted to design jewelry?

No. I always knew that I wanted to do someone creative, but only until after college did I realize that being a jewelry designer would … Read More »
