Cia.Maritima celebrated it’s 20th year in the business with an amazing runway show! There was a sexy but refined feel to the collection. Cia.Maritima is the hottest Brazilian swimsuit line and the Brazilian appeal was apparent in the latest collection. Bright jewel tones and symmetrical prints added a tropical feel that would look great against a nice tan. Loose beach dresses were accented with chunky, heavy beaded necklaces. Caffe the Colombian swimwear label famous for its luxury and high fashion appeal debuted its 2011 swimwear collection at Miami Fashion Week. The new collection featured fresh white swimsuits, sand colored bags and gold cuffs. We could totally see perhaps a more sophisticated and cultured lady being drawn to the new line. We fell in love with the coral halter dress and white beach pants! There were also a few great print options in the collection in blues and fuschias. We usually prefer silver over gold but gold definitely worked perfectly for this line!

The White Sands Preview set the bar high at the beginning of our hectic schedule.  We had a huge day of shows ahead of us, so it was a nice change of pace seeing the collection in a penthouse rather than a typical runway.  The room had marble floors, and white floor length curtains that framed the beach landscape.  As the music started every photog got in their positions in anticipation of the show.  Right when the first model walked in, I knew this show would be a head turner.

Snakeskin is back in a big way.  Reptilian skins are showing up everywhere, and trend experts are saying this insect theme is going to be huge for 2011. The late Alexander McQueen’s supersonic Spring ’10 collection was one of the first to use the exotic colored insect prints for patterns in bags and dresses, and the items sold like hot cakes. The high end denim and apparel designer True Religion sent their 2011 swim collection down the runway today at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Miami. The collection had a SoCal-Baja chic influence with suede fringe, fedoras, scarfs, aviators, ankle bracelets, blue and burnt orange ombre. We’ve seen the look before and it’s not really our style not too mention the models were a little on the shorter side sporting messy half up, half down hairstyles and pale lips. Overall not an awe-inspiring collection compared to ones we’ve seen earlier. Check out some photos below! What do you think?
