White Water Rafting on the Nantahala River | July 20, 2010

Looking for a wet and wild time this summer?  How about white water rafting?

Growing up in Jacksonville Florida my family and I would go camping in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia.  One year when I was approximately 8 years old we tried white water rafting on the Nantahala River.  Honestly I don’t remember much of the trip except for that at the very end was a class 3 rapid called Nantahala Falls.  The reason I remember that is the river guide said it was not a good spot to fall out.  Well guess what I did?  I fell … Read More »

Miami Fashion Week SWIM 2011: Mara Hoffman | July 20, 2010

The New York based designer Mara Hoffman took Miami Fashion Week’s runway by storm! The collection was insane, the best so far! The exotic feel of the collection was accented with tassled arm bands,  fishtail braids, wooden wedges, headscarves, hooded wraps and face paint! Prints, prints and more prints seemed to walk down the runway. The color palette was bright–so new, so now! Mara Hoffman was a sweetheart in person and her passion truly shows in her collection. I would wear ever single piece, especially the skintight printed leggings which we are buying ASAP!

Look below for some from front shots!

Why, aren’t you looking fabulous today! Have we met you before? When you set out in this simple, quite lovely navy blue dress, you’ll look so wonderful, everyone you pass will suspect you are headed somewhere very important! Take advantage of the power of style, and grace them with a mysteriously cool answer, “Maybe, maybe not.” It’ll keep them coming back for more, as will this dress’ front and back V-neck, lined with four columns of pintuck pleats, and a flirtatious peek of lace in the front. Wear this garment with commanding wedges … Read More »

Preventing Mascara From Smudging: “Lash Crash” | July 20, 2010

Eyelash and mascara tips from Christopher Drummond of Christopher Drummond Beauty
The best way to prevent mascara smudging is to use a mascara that doesn’t smudge (common sense, I know.  But it truly is all about the formula of mascara you use).. That being said, find a mascara you like (popular favorites are Cover Girl Lash Blast, and Maybellene Great Lash)Unfortunately, there are no “natural” mascaras that don’t smudge. Trust me.  I don’t recommend waterproof mascara for every day.

More tips on preventing a “Lash Crash”:

Give yourself credit: When applying mascara, use a credit card or business card to act as a shield between … Read More »

Miami Fashion Week SWIM 2011: Trina Turk | July 20, 2010

Presented at The Raleigh, the Trina Turk Swimwear runway show kicked off Miami Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week SWIM. We got a front row view of the latest collection which featured beautiful coral nail polish, straw hats and the playful prints that the Trina Turk brand is known for. Although a few twill fabric shorts and jackets threw us off a little, the collection was bright and fun over all!

Organizing Insurance Papers | July 19, 2010

Is it me or we bombarded with a wide variety of paperwork? I swear every I turn around our insurance company is mailing us new paperwork!!! On top of that, all the prescription receipts, EOB’s and doctors visits will fill any home file folder in a month or two.

So here is how I “Clear the Clutter” on our insurance paperwork. I may not being doing everything by the “rule book” but I do know at all time where my paperwork is and our policies.
