Recently I had the opportunity to try one of the new frozen entrées from P.F. Chang’s Home Menu provided to me on behalf of Unilever. These frozen entrées feature the big, bold flavors inspired by the restaurant’s signature dishes, but are conveniently packaged. One two-serving entrée is perfect for a date night-in; several entrées can create a family style meal that the whole family will enjoy. Each of the eight varieties features high-quality meats and vegetables, with recipes expertly developed by the P.F. Chang’s chefs who know them best. http://www.pfchangshomemenu.com/
Created with the expert chefs at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro® and produced and distributed by Unilever, P.F. Chang’s Home Menu is a new line ofmpremium Asian frozen entrées that captures the bold flavors associated with P.F. Chang’s. With P.F. Chang’s Home Menu, fans of P.F. Chang’s can now conquer their cravings for its signature Asian cuisine at home, when they can’t get to a restaurant.
Made with high-quality ingredients and featuring intense flavors, the bold, frozen meals for two are convenient and easy to prepare, going from the skillet to a succulent restaurant-quality meal at home in just minutes.
The P.F. Chang’s Home Menu features fresh-tasting, high-quality ingredients, including Asian vegetables like edamame, water chestnuts, snap peas and bok choy. Each entrée includes chicken, beef or shrimp, with up to 25 percent of total volume in protein.
Proprietary technology ensures that the ingredients for the entrée are frozen without losing any of the bold flavor, and allows the different ingredients to cook together for consistent quality and taste. Sauces are frozen in Unilever’s unique sauce cube format, melting over and glazing the high-quality proteins and crisp vegetables as the entrée cooks.
Though I don’t eat at P.F.Chang’s here in Tulsa, OK often, I do frequent their partner restaurant Pei Wei on a pretty regular basis. I’m one of those people that order the same appetizer and entrée off the menu every time I go. I was very skeptical to try a frozen version of these meals since the food is made to order at the restaurant. There is something very special about the snap peas still having their “snap.” With my free coupon in hand, I set off to Target to find a P.F. Chang’s frozen meal for dinner. Being that I’m not a fan of pepper, red or green, my choices were limited. I settled on the Shrimp Lo Mein. Cooking the meal per instructions, I have to say that it was good, but nothing compared to eating it in the restaurant itself. Also, the serving size was for two small meals. I would recommend adding some egg rolls, egg drop soup or something else to round-out the dish.
Inspired by best-selling recipes at P.F. Chang’s China Bistros, P.F. Chang’s Home Menu features eight varieties of meals for two, including:
Orange Chicken – Battered white meat chicken with a spicy orange sauce,
carrots, water chestnuts and edamame
Shanghai Style Beef – Beef with a sweet and savory sauce, onions, string
beans and red bell peppers
Sweet & Sour Chicken – Battered white meat chicken with a balanced sweet
and tangy sauce, pineapple and bell peppers
General Chang’s Chicken – Battered white meat chicken with a sweet chili
sauce, broccoli and red bell peppers
Ginger Chicken & Broccoli – White meat chicken with a fragrant ginger
sauce, broccoli and red bell peppers
Beef with Broccoli – Beef with a savory garlic soy sauce and broccoli
Shrimp in a Garlic Sauce – Shrimp with a garlic sauce, carrots, red bell
peppers, water chestnuts and snap peas
Shrimp Lo Mein – Shrimp with a sesame soy sauce, bok choy, mushrooms,
celery, carrots and lo mein noodles
For the best home dining experience, it is highly recommended to prepare P.F. Chang’s Home Menu on the stove top according to the package
directions. Preparation is as easy as pouring the contents of the bag into a 10- or 12-inch skillet, covering it and cooking over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, for 12-13 minutes (see package directions for the specific entrée) until the sauce thickens and creates a glaze.
Microwave directions are also included on the product package.
P.F. Chang’s Home Menu is available in freezer sections of grocery stores nationwide. Prices will vary by retailer.
