Hey Shorty! | February 17, 2011

Move over Rapunzel! Short hair is booming in 2011 – parading up and down the catwalks, from the asymmetrical, one length wonders, to the shaved all over!

So here are a few quick ways to style those short spunky full-of-attitude crops to bouncy and bubbly bobs:

Do it like a dude like Jessie J by opting for a punky and edgy bob that scrape’s just underneath the jaw line in one straightened solid and severe length that packs a punch with its bold, sharp edges, accompanied with a strong, gutsy full fringe. Paint Your Home With Pantone’s 2011 Spring Colors! | February 17, 2011

by Christy Biberich

PANTONE’S 2011 Spring Colors are the perfect prescription for a much needed fresh start this season. Even the color-timid can capitalize on the natural serenity these colors bring by emphasizing neutrals like Silver Peony, Silver Cloud, and Peapod.  For the bold and adventurous there are an abundance of vibrant options like Honeysuckle, Coral Rose, and Beeswax.  No matter how trends change over time, the 2011 Spring Palette is based on colors found in nature and that is always timeless.

Honeysuckle is a major player this season in everything from home textiles to runway fashion – I’ve even spotted menswear … Read More »

Emerge from the Dark Side | February 17, 2011

Sometimes, we don’t understand just how dark it is until we start to see the light.

As children, society tells us that there are certain things we can and cannot do.  Rewards and recognition may have come with ultimatums (‘If you don’t get better grades, I’ll be so angry with you.  You’ll never go anywhere in life if you don’t hang out with this group of kids, and such). Perhaps we were flat-out told to do something in order to make someone else happy (Darling, marry a rich man who can support you – you know, that sort of thing).

We thus … Read More »
