With spring just right around the corner, this provides the perfect opportunity to update the look of your bedroom. One of the things that is an easy change that provides a great impact is simply buying new bedding in spring colours and patterns. One piece of bedding you will want to buy is sheets.
When selecting sheets for your spring bedding, thread count is a major consideration. To determine the thread count of sheets, the label on the package will display this information. Many consumers might wonder what exactly the thread count means. This is the number of threads that comprise a square inch of the fabric used to make the sheet. The threads going in both directions are counted to determine this number.
In the world of bedding, a higher thread count is better. As the thread count increases so does the comfort of the sheets. Most bedding experts recommend purchasing sheets with thread counts of 250 or above. If you can afford a higher count, then it is a wise investment as the sheets will be more durable and last longer. Also, it’s a good investment for you and your sleep cycle.
Bed sheets can be made out of a variety of fabrics. Many people have their specific preferences. Generally, for spring lighter fabrics are the best choice. You might find sheets made of cotton, microfibres, silk or satin. Flannel is an option but generally too warm for spring. Although if your climate still necessitates some warmth for spring, you can get away with a lighter flannel sheet.
Getting sheets that fit your bed well is also key when selecting spring bedding. While many mattresses come in standard sizes given specific length and width measurements, one aspect that can vary is the thickness of the mattress. Some mattresses are much thicker than others. This creates certain situations when buying bedding. If your mattress is rather thick, you will want to find sheets with deep pockets. Otherwise, buying a standard size sheet for your mattress could cause the fitted sheet to easily come off or not even go onto the mattress. They simply might not be deep enough.

Great article! Just the other day I was speaking to a friend of mine about getting new spring bedding. I think it’s good to change with the seasons…not only does it give you a fresh look but it also makes you feel good. I agree with the deep pocket size sheets, this occurs with my sheets every time!{Them coming off}

Excellent article. I find that accessories and pretty sheets are a very quick way to spruce up a boring bedroom. I don’t have a lot of money for decorating/re-decorating but I’ll always invest in quality pillows and high thread count sheets. A person can find beautiful sheet sets in a myriad of colors and designs and it’s like a breath of fresh air for that bedroom.
