Every season fashion week is unpredictable—you never know what kind of experience it will be until the lights dim low and the music rolls as the first model steps foot onto the catwalk. Mackage proved to live up to this exciting suspense with a sexy chic style from the start. I had a fabulous front row seat, sitting 2 seats away from Adrienne Bailon. Needless to say, I was quite excited to be there.

Mackage presented a fabulous Fall/Winter 2011 collection. For women it featured feminine silhouettes with strong details.  A teal jacquard bustier pleated skirt dress owned the runway—I’d like to own this in my wardrobe. In fact, I want every outfit in this collection! Soft, fitted dresses and tops with a masculine touch of leather and strong shoulders. A series of zebra print blouses, a taupe wool dress, sand top with leather leggings, toffee wool skirt dress, black shirt with sequin shoulder details, and asymmetrical cuts lit up the runway. The entire collection was eye candy and something all edgy, sophisticated and sexy city women wants to get their hands on for this fall and winter season.

As for the menswear, classic camel and dark grey trenches appeared with sheepskin detail. A camel knit collar jacket with leather sleeves brought out the edge of which Mackage is known. It was exciting to see each look turn around the corner—the entire time I was anxious to see what other masterpiece was going to walk down the aisle.

After witnessing such a fantastic show, I was feeling incredibly inspired by Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week. Mackage brought on a collection that stays true to the NYC lifestyle and created looks that women and men need to have in their collections for everyday use and for nights out on the town.  I can’t wait to see what the designers have in store for next season!
