Needless to say, I was quite excited to be there.

Anything Other Than Naked | March 22, 2011

“Many men think it no longer matters how they dress, but it most definitely does,” says Glen R. Sondag, aChicago investment advisor. “Whether we like it or not, we are often judged by what the wear—to work, at social events, and numerous other outings.  It never hurts to look your best.”

The problem, Sondag acknowledges, is that men get little guidance from each other and often resist advice from their girlfriends or wives. They don’t read or trust articles on the latest fashions for men, and vague terms such as “business casual” leave them confused.

“Men rely on their own instincts or whatever feels … Read More »

Moroccan Bean And Vegetable Farro Soup | March 21, 2011

When most people think about Italian cuisine, they think pasta. But in many of my Italian classes, nary a strand can be found. It’s one of the oldest unhybridizied forms of wheat and has been a part of the Italian diet for centuries. But when was the last time you had farro? Probably never. Ever see farro on most mainstream Italian menus? It’s not there, but it should be.

But even if you never see it served … Read More »

The Bogus Self-Esteem Movement | March 17, 2011

Did you hear the one about the child who received an award every year at school?  It wasn’t necessarily won due to merit.  The school’s policy dictated that every student must win one each year.

Are you aware of  the twenty-something, so used to getting his way and receiving pats on the back just for walking into the room that he can’t quite wrap his head around the fact that he’s not … Read More »
