Inconceivable: A Medical Mistake… | March 10, 2011

A medical mistake during an IVF procedure. An unthinkable situation . . . you’re pregnant with the wrong baby. You can’t terminate, but you can’t keep him. What choice would you make?

Carolyn and Sean Savage had been trying to expand their family for years. When they underwent an IVF transfer in February 2009, they knew it would be their last chance. If they became pregnant, they would celebrate the baby as an answer to their prayers. If not, they would be grateful for the family they had and leave their fertility struggles behind forever.

They never imagined a third option. The … Read More »

A Simple Ball of Yarn | March 10, 2011

Never looked so good.

I don’t knit or crochet.  But combine some yarn with an industrial bar cart and I think I will start. Made of metal and wire mesh, this industrial cart has all the right ingredients. A great vintage finish and some yarn make this cart a real winner. Although I think I would prefer to use this as a bar cart instead of a sewing station.

This bar cart can bring industrial style to any room. It fits in any space and is multifunctional. I like it best in the study, den or dining area with some bottles … Read More »

My Natural Haircare Survivor Kit | March 10, 2011

I am always on the quest to find the “must have” hair care products. And since making the choice to go natural almost a year ago, my quest has that much more of a purpose. Most people think that going natural means less maintenance for your hair, but really, in my opinion, there’s more.

Through my quest to find the best of the best, I have put together my natural hair survival kit. My list of “must have” products from start to finish.

Shampoo:

Mizani True Texture Natural Hair Curl Balance and Natural Hair Cleansing Cream. They are very gentle on the … Read More »

Excuses, Excuses. What’s Holding You Back From Your Dream Home? | March 9, 2011

Over the years I’ve realized that making a room look attractive requires much more than just knowing which chair to put where. There is a significant amount of psychology that goes into great design and any decorator worth her fee knows how to combat her clients’ fears and misconceptions, helping them overcome whatever is holding them back so that they get the room they really want. Today I would like to cover a few of the most popular fears or misconceptions that may be keeping you from hiring a professional decorator to finally achieve the design you deserve.

1. Decorators are too expensive. I … Read More »

Famous, Weathly and Messed Up! | March 8, 2011

What do Lindsay Lohan, Michael Jackson, Brittney Spears, Princess Diana and Charlie Sheen all have in common?

Well, they’re all famous, wealthy and have, or have been, majorly ‘messed up’!

Said another way, their behavior is destructive, or has been destructive, to their lives and livelihood. In some cases consequences have been quite severe and lives have been lost. In others the damage has not been lethal but it has certainly been profound. And in all cases, there was a great deal of so-called ‘collateral damage’ to friends, family, fans and society as a whole. Mental illness and addiction are very demanding … Read More »

Grill season will be here soon enough, and along with the soaring temperatures in our summer forecast comes a tireless string of barbeques and cookouts that often leave us loaded up on mounds of excess calories and fat.
