Style for a Friday Luncheon | July 21, 2011

Last Friday I attended a luncheon with several friends I had not seen in the last ten years. I had to carry a large tote because I wanted to take my professional camera.  With the weather having not dipped below 100 degrees, I have found few restaurants in the area have been able to keep their air conditioning working properly.  I decided not to take a light sweater and wear the lightest top I could find in my closet.

Simple Summer Additions: Taylor Kenney Jewelry | July 20, 2011

Although I have had my ears pierced since six months old, I rarely wear earrings. Why? Because many earrings are not versatile enough to go with different outfits. As the economy took a turn, saving money is a main concern. And because products that serve for multiple outfits are justifiable, earrings are not top on my list. But finally, Taylor Kenney Jewelry, has proven me wrong. Featured in this article is Green Paloma Hoops. These hoops are the perfect size, as well as the perfect beach green color, for those sandy neutral outfits. You can also … Read More »

Style for a Beach Party | July 20, 2011

Recently I attended a vegan beach party. The food was quite interesting and I discovered several new tastes. Although I admit the black bean burger was not my favorite, the salads were delicious! I needed a simple summery outfit that would look chic on a windy beach. I chose white, tan and gold accessories.

Without Words | July 19, 2011

As much as I love words, I prefer writing them to actually speaking them. I feel far more is communicated through deeds rather than what we might say. I’ve always been drawn to the doers of the world rather than the talkers. I like people of action, who simply go about their business without having to report their every move to everyone they encounter.

I think we learn a great deal about a person through her demeanor, expression, and even her manner of dress. So, with that in mind, what sort of message are you sending … Read More »

Clams on the Grill with Herbed-Citrus Sauce | July 19, 2011

Clams on the Grill with Herbed-Citrus Sauce
Serves 6-8

This is a perfect appetizer, cocktail tidbit or snack. Grilling clams is quick to do while chatting with guests. Served topped with a light, refreshing herb sauce, there is nothing more elegant or easy to do. These clams would be a wonderful way to end an afternoon’s reading of one of the books of the sea, or a grand cap to a good beach read. If clams are not available, mussels would work just fine. This is a light repast to tide one over till dinner, or to begin one.

3 to 4 dozen … Read More »
