A killer with a gift for inventive and macabre deaths. An FBI Agent with an equally unusual imagination and sense of humour
Confronted with a series of death threats in her inbox, FBI Agent Ellie Conway disregards them. When an ex-boyfriend pitches up at her home to cause mayhem, she calls for back up, lights a cigarette and sits in her kitchen to wait. She is not your typical gun-toting protagonist.
When the body of the ex appears in her car – accompanied by some very bad poetry – it is obvious that her latest case is not just business, it is personal in the extreme.
In this fast-paced thriller, Ellie and her new colleague Mac Connelly survive explosions, bullets, a mounting body count (with bodies or random parts thereof presented in cars, trees, dumpsters, hospital …) an excess of tequila and even a dead pet chicken, as they track down a cyber-psycho stalker on a killing spree, intent on murdering those close to Ellie and, ultimately, Ellie herself.
Despite an abundance of crime scenes, no evidence can be found to identify a motive or perpetrator. Conway and her team, Delta A, are led on a provocatively bizarre and entertaining dance. Additionally, this ghost-like murderer, who defies detection, uses the latest in cyber gadgets to keep tabs on Ellie at any given time, enabling him to taunt and provoke her with this knowledge. The death toll rises to include her best friend and her own mother.
Ellie’s irreverent brand of humor, her kick-ass attitude and eccentric approach to solving crime, is combined with vulnerability, stubbornness, and embarrassing but very human responses to distressing crime scenes.
A chance remark provides the first real clue to a connection between past hurts and present pain, which unravels the killer’s twisted goals.
Killerbyte is the first in a series of gripping, must-read page-turners.

Cat Connor was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. The eldest of two children, (her brother died when he was 18 years old) she attended school in Upper Hutt and Invercargill before the family settled permanently in Upper Hutt. Mother of seven children and nursemaid to Missy the cat and a rabbit called Milly, Cat has found the time to write ten novels, including the Special Agent Ellie Conway series
published by Rebel e Publishing.
Cat has a penchant for the arts, playing acoustic guitar in her early teens before moving on to electric – a Gibson SG – graduating to pencil and paint; she now uses fabric ink and dye.
If you were to ask Cat’s family and friends about how they feel about her taking on the writing industry they will tell you that they are not surprised. Cat is never neutral and that means never being satisfied with just one accomplishment.
Cat has looked deep inside herself to aid in the strength of her characters. Her belief in liberty and freedom is embedded in the characters she creates. Her inherent talent for expressing how other people feel and think gives the characters empathy, humour, quirkiness and a need on the part of the reader to know more about them and their multi-dimensional roles.
