Despite an abundance of crime scenes, no evidence can be found to identify a motive or perpetrator. Conway and her team, Delta A, are led on a provocatively bizarre and entertaining dance. Additionally, this ghost-like murderer, who defies detection, uses the latest in cyber gadgets to keep tabs on Ellie at any given time, enabling him to taunt and provoke her with this knowledge. The death toll rises to include her best friend and her own mother.

Ellie’s irreverent brand of humor, her kick-ass attitude and eccentric approach to solving crime, is combined with vulnerability, stubbornness, and embarrassing but very human responses to distressing crime scenes.

A chance remark provides the first real clue to a connection between past hurts and present pain, which unravels the killer’s twisted goals.

The eldest of two children, (her brother died when he was 18 years old) she attended school in Upper Hutt and Invercargill before the family settled permanently in Upper Hutt. Cat has a penchant for the arts, playing acoustic guitar in her early teens before moving on to electric – a Gibson SG – graduating to pencil and paint; she now uses fabric ink and dye.
