Italian Romance: Rolando Santana’s Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Having been diagnosed with a serious shoe addiction, I was SO EXCITED and anxious to see Rolando Santana’s collaboration with Manolo Blahnik at his runway show on Wednesday night at Exit Art Gallery. The gallery was packed with people stirring about what would be in his line for the spring summer season 2012. Socialites and celebrities such as Stephen Baldwin graced the front row. As the fashion industry does so well, the show started a bit fashionably late—but was completely worth the wait! Imagine yourself walking through the streets of Italy. The romantic setting and classic style is all around you as the models starting walking down the runway.

Gorgeous prints and feminine silhouettes flowed throughout Rolando’s show. The marbleized prints spoke of sophistication and the sequined tops of confidence. Silk taffeta, chiffon, textured metallic raw silk, lambskin, sophisticated prints on silk twill and sheer mesh, certainly had a modern relevance to the renaissance city. The Manolo Blahnik by Rolando Santana shoes were the perfect touch to the outfits. The spring / summer color palette consisted of vintage white, champagne, gold, metallic ivory, and touches of sage which were inspired from the tones of the summer sun hitting parts of the city at different times of the day.

The most refreshing part about going to Rolando’s show each season is to see the purely feminine styles throughout the collection. Every woman wants to feel beautiful, and his collection does exactly that. It is incredibly classy and truly beautiful.
