Why Age No Longer Defines Fashion | September 16, 2011

I have the same New Look dress as Rochelle from Uk pop group The Saturdays. Rochelle is in her early twenties, I am in my mid 30′s. Which begs the question – am I too old for this dress, or is the dress too old for Rochelle?

The answer, happily, is no on both counts. The days when shops had a clearly age defined audience have long gone, with mothers and daughters happily shopping in the same places, and sometimes buying the same things. Why is this now the case?

Color Blocking and Cutouts for BCBG Max Azria S/S 2012 | September 15, 2011

The moment I laid my eyes on this spring/summer ready-to-wear collection, I quickly noticed a similar color blocking theme to its prior fall/winter collection, making this somewhat of a carryover collection.  That said, this collection is in no way last season’s collection.  As the models began to make their way down the runway, the looks began with lighter neutral tones of tan and off-white with color blocks of butter and peach.  About midway through, deeper neutrals like gray and black were blocked with third and fourth additions of deeper pigment colors like mustard, orange, slate blue, with some touches of … Read More »

Styling her friends at the age of four, Stacy Igel was destined to be a fashion designer. Tonight her talent shined at her exciting fashion presentation sponsored by Elle360 Style Coalition at the trendy club Avenue in the Meatpacking district.

The Veronicas played live at the party hosted by Dwight Howard & Victoria Azarenka. Once the band started, models started playfully dancing and strut their “edgy yet wearable, stylish yet casually classic” Boy Meets Girl attire. Missoni for Target Is Going To Fly Off the Shelves Today | September 13, 2011

My twitter feed has been on fire since the release of this ad for the Missoni for Target collaboration early last month.  In the ad, Margherita Missoni pulls her signature zigzag luggage while walking alongside a coordinated young man, pulling his own zigzag suitcase.  All it took was a press from @MarilynAgencyNY (fashionologie) to make people loose their minds over all of the Missoni goodies to come from Target.

I spend a great deal of time coaching women and there is often a recurring theme. Many of the women I coach end up with a similar conclusion. Their minds are stuck in past negative experiences which are showing up in their lives. How are they showing up?

Worry.

Unbelief.

Low self-esteem.

Lack of confidence.

Doubt.

Fear.
