2011 Emmy Awards Red Carpet | September 20, 2011

For those who forgot to watch it on Sunday night, Mad Men and Modern Family took over the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards. But let’s be honest, what’s more important is the Red Carpet Arrivals. It’s no Academy Awards but we were graced with plenty of elegant dresses that were designed by Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, Marchesa, Peter Som, and Emilio Pucci to name a few.

To my surprise, a lot of actresses showed up in solid colors in black, blue, green, purple and red – all looking stunning as ever. I was glad to see a handful of simple … Read More »

If you want to recount specific details of your dreams (e.g., “We were tandem skydiving and landed on a herd of buffalos . . . “), you should purchase a dream diary.

Before texting a question to your son or daughter, ask yourself, “Could I Google this?”

We understand that parents feel obligated to discuss the birds and bees with their children. However, sex, contraception, or promiscuity … Read More »

Does Your Doctor Treat You As The Unique Individual That You Are? | September 19, 2011

by Dr. Cochran with Dr. Waggoner M.D.

Last week you went to your doctor for your annual physical and you found out that you have cholesterol problems, specifically small density LDL, which your doctor told you is a death sentence if you don’t address it. It seems that these small density particles have an incredible propensity for sneaking into your arteries. Pretty soon your arteries start to look like the bottom of a grease trap in a French fry machine and eventually all that ‘goop’ turns into plaques. Plaque isn’t good for your teeth and it isn’t good for your arteries … Read More »

Reality Television: A Hazardous Influence or Simply Entertainment? | September 19, 2011

As I watch the current episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, I can’t help but recap the recent turn of events that have occurred over the last few months.

Let’s start with the good news, shall we?

On Saturday, August 20th, 2011, (Sorry uber late) media darling Kim Kardashian wed hubby Kris Humphries, at an (You guessed it!) over the top, opulent Montecito estate. Highway to Hell: Anna Francesca’s Edgy Spring 2012 line | September 19, 2011

As “Highway to Hell” blasted through the speakers, so did Anna Francesca’s Spring 2012 collection which was titled “Lucifer.” The show began with a cut-out red and black ensemble with giant angel wings, being escorted by a black caped grim reaper character. Needless to say, it set the tone of edginess, a unique heaven vs. hell runway show.

The next outfit to appear was a soft feathery V-cut dress with a pretty pink waistline. Lace, ruffles, chains, corsetry, shimmer and shine— Francesca used many materials and shapes for her collection which kept the audience on their toes. What was going … Read More »
