Chic Style Tuesday: Pink Glam Rock | December 13, 2011

This is seriously one of my favorite outfits for a Tuesday. I call it, “I can’t decide if I want to be girlie, hipster, rocker or what” day. So I just combine them all!  I layer the bracelets on one wrist and the sleeves of the striped tee stick out from under the sweater.  I sort of tuck in the front of the tee so you can see the belt, but I let the back hang out untucked.

Arugula Salad with Arils, Persimmons and POM Vinaigrette

TIME TO TABLE:  25 minutes

Makes 2–3 servings

Ingredients

HAZELNUTS

2/3  cup blanched hazelnuts

4  teaspoons hazelnut oil

VINAIGRETTE

juice from 1 large POM Wonderful Pomegranate,* or 3 tablespoons POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice

1  tablespoon finely diced shallot, plus 2 small, thinly sliced shallots

1  tablespoon sherry vinegar

2  teaspoons rice vinegar

New York City’s Sample Sales Tips | December 12, 2011

December is the season for sample sales in New York City and many New Yorkers like myself can get almost any designers’ clothing, handbangs, shoes at a major discount off the retail price! There are different ways to find out about these sales but most of the time, they are very hush-hush. While most people were on their way to work this morning, I hurried over to Fifth Avenue to check out Diane Von Furstenberg’s sample sale.
