I’m loving the Spring Pantone Caberet trend in handbags, belts, tops and shoes! I would certainly add a pair of these shoes to a chic black dress. They would also be great with a pair of jeans and black blazer. I would recommend only wearing a neutral color with these vibrant shoes.

I know I’ve been on a black and pink kick lately, but I’m all about taking the staples you should always have in your closet and changing them up with a little something new for Spring. Here I paired my black Tory Burch Eddie flats, a black and white striped sweater and black skinny jeans with a skinny pink belt. The belt was less than $15 and what a change it made to this outfit! I once heard Tory Burch say that the Eddie was her “go to” shoe when she had to do a lot of running around New York City. I completely agree with her! They are super comfortable.

I think every gal should have a fun watch and a pair of gold hoop earrings in their closet. I’ve styled my Michele watch before in a fall outfit post and I love this new version they have with the bright colored numbers!

Chic Street Style: Beanie Hats

I have always been a hat person. I have worn hats for over 25 years, not just for warmth, but because I love the way they make me feel! I think my hats reflect my personality and wearing one is definitely a fashion statement. Recently I was introduced to 1717 Olive hats. I received this Olive Jeweled Slouch Beanie and this Yeti Hand Kit Birds Eye Fair Isle Beanie to help me get through the cold Oklahoma winter. These hats are extremely warm and so chic!

Chic Street Style: The Soul Mate Myth

The unseasonably warm weather this January certainly has enticed me to venture outside more and soak up the sunshine.

I’ve been dealing with the issue of dating and believe me – at my age – it isn’t easy. I admit that I’m an extremely busy woman and my business often takes precedence over my personal life. It just seems that most men over 50 are looking for a woman half my age or someone to help them juggle their own hectic lives. I often think about throwing in the towel and just becoming comfortable at home on Friday night flipping channels. However, thoughts of someone to spend this time with me always creep in my mind. Believe me, I’m not the Queen of great past relationships. I do admit, though, that I’m an eternal optimist.

What are your thoughts on dating when work seems to dominate your time?

Shop Your Closet: Houndstooth

MUST HAVE staples in your closet are black tights, black booties, black opaque tights and a black cardigan. Electric pink is all the rage this Spring. It’s easy to give some punch to your black staples with a pop of electric pink! I’m pretty sure it will brighten your mood too. I paired these with a black houndstooth skirt I had in my closet from LOFT.

Any solid black tights will work. Mine happen to be Betsey Johnson tights.

My black booties are Clarks.

I’m still in search of the perfect pink tank. I found a few I am considering:

Sugarlips, Ralph Lauren, Tees by Tina and Kiss.

My black ruffle cardigan is from White House, Black Market. Similar Ralph Lauren cardigan.

I keep it simple with gold hoop earrings and a dainty gold charm necklace. Some of my favorites are the ones I wore here by Emily Elizabeth.
