Reem Acra showed true Feminine Power at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for the Fall 12 line. With an extra spotlight now on the designer since Madonna recently wore a Reem Acra gown to the Globes, all eyes are on the designer’s line to see what was going to come out next. Leather outfits, mixed in with lace underpinnings of lace and chiffons graced the runway on Sunday. This line was put together like a unique puzzle—mixed with bold contrasting fabrics, patterns and textures. Some of the looks were extra luxe with fur necklines—perfect for the Fall/Winter season. Feminine Power is a way of wearing these pieces in an effortless, oh-so-chic way revealing beauty, strength and freedom with clearly no boundaries. Feminine Power was the perfect choice for Reem’s show inspiration—it was completely suited for a strong, confident woman.

Towards the end of the show Reem Acra brought out the fireworks with glitzy, shimmery pieces and chiffons. It was a mix of 1920′s silhouettes (clearly a girl-power era) to modern day cuts and shapes. True show-stoppers! The line was consistently turning heads and made the audience want to know what was next. Everything in the line was something a sophisticated, strong woman with taste would want to wear—fabulous!

Whitney Port held her Fall/Winter 2012 fashion show at “the tents” this season, the Lincoln Center. It was an early morning show, but the crowd arrived promptly to see what will be in store this fall. Her collection “Whitney Eve” is composed of an array of silhouettes from convertible party dressed to charming menswear-inspired shapes that are complimented with new, fresh designs and color palettes. This season Port drew inspiration from an antique kaleidoscope she found in her Grandmother’s house. Of course, would it really be Whitney Port’s fashion show without People’s Revolution running around behind the scenes? Of course not. Kelly Cutrone was spotted keeping everything in order making sure the show would run perfectly– including kicking people out of the front row that tried to steal the prime seats. So entertaining! The show was also watched by onlookers former Disney Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon, as well as model and actor Tyson Beckford.

Naeem Khan brought on a beautiful Autumn/Winter line to the Lincoln Center audience at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Inspired by the decadence and dust of India, Khan wanted to reflect the theme off the body as a canvas. The concept of body art is deeply rooted in the Indian culture—which is why Naeem Khan wanted to make this a key role in the show. Utilizing the designs from Indian culture, Khan started out his collection by dabbing white-out on black boards and printed in Switzerland.  The paisleys and swirl motifs were used as an inspiration for all the embroidery detail. The line took hundreds of artisans and 3 months to put together—a very unique and authentic process to put together this exquisite line.

The line consisted of feather skirts, cocktail dresses, gowns, satin cigarette pants and tank tops. The range was broad but the collection remained cohesive and luxe. It is no wonder why so many celebrities were seen at the show. To name a few, Matt Damon, Kristen Chenowith, and Robert Verdi were all seen smiling and commenting on the looks that turned around the stage corner.  Look out red carpet—Naeem Khan is in town!
