Jill Solomon is a wife, mother, and a serial entrepreneur. Jill began a design business in 1995 focusing on infant, children, and tweens spaces. She expanded her business by opening a children’s boutique in Tulsa, Oklahoma where ‘More Than Dreams’ held many accolades from local news sources. ‘More Than Dreams’ still thrives as an internet store. In 2003 Jill began utilizing her skills as a photographer to capture images of children to intermingle into the overall design of children’s spaces. Her unique approach to photography is infused with elements of design and originality.

The love of photography took over and Jill is content behind the lens of her camera.

In fact, out of the love of photography, Jill has developed a line of greeting cards and stationary that takes photography, design, and quotes (affectionately known as ‘Jill’ isms) and marries them into one brand called “Bless Her Heart Art”.

Jill volunteers her time to the Down Syndrome Association of Tulsa, by photographing their annual calendar. With her love for these special children, Jill has developed a line of greeting cards designed especially for children with special needs to help raise awareness.

Jill has held a licensing agreement with a well-known children’s furniture company and has designed countless bedding ensembles for people living in the United States, Mexico and Canada. As a designer of children’s bedding, Jill found a need that was not being fulfilled for mother’s to be. She found that women really wanted high end bedding but could not afford it. Armed with her knowledge, Jill created “The Itch to Stitch”. The Itch to Stitch is an all inclusive kit that has all premeasured, precut fabrics, notions, bumper forms, directions, and dvd to show a woman exactly how to make the nursery of her dreams. It is hard to keep up with Jill as grass never grows underneath her feet. One thing is for certain, she is “all things creative’ and her passion for people keeps her one of the most approachable people on the planet. Please check back often as she will open up a world of design unmatched by any other.

Winter Blahs

February 25, 2010

Is it just me or is this winter lasting FOREVER? It wasn’t too long ago I took a little trip to the mall to escape “cabin fever”.  I am the only woman in my house and quite frankly the male bonding experience due to inclement weather was really beginning to take its toll on this prissy girl!

I wasn’t sure if there was a cure for what ailed me but I knew come sleet or high water a trip to the mall was in order. It seems like everyone else had the same idea, in fact, I would have compared it … Read More »

Love in a Waffle House

January 20, 2010

While wasting time one morning last summer, I found myself sitting in a Waffle House having coffee. An unexpected and unusual trip landed me in a booth with a birds-eye view of the whole joint. I felt comfortable in the retro vibe and lured in by the odd aroma of bacon cooking and the lingering smell of cleaning agents.  There was such a somber mood shared by the staff and patrons alike. We were all in one small place and yet completely alone in our own little worlds.

In such a ho hum environment where people go about their morning routine, … Read More »

Picture Perfect Presents

December 5, 2009

As if decking the Halls, and scheduling everyone’s holiday schedule isn’t stressful enough, it’s that  time of year when all of us seem to be scrambling to find the perfect gift for the people we love, the ones we only get to see once a year if we are lucky! Can I get an Amen? Hopefully, I can help you out in your quest, and you may be surprised that you can find everything you need in a shoebox in the closet and a computer.

It’s no secret how I found my profession and passion. I remember it well, a spring … Read More »

Color Me Fall

November 3, 2009

Recently, I had the opportunity to shoot a day in a real pumpkin patch. You know the kind that has the vines and pumpkins attached to them, not the fabricated side of the road pumpkin patch, this was the real deal!

Livesay Orchards is in Porter, Oklahoma and is open just about year round with so many fabulous things for families to do and enjoy.  Livesay Orchards is family owned and operated. The Livesays are great salt of the earth people and have had my heart for years. And for good reason they have attracted the likes of Southern Living Magazine … Read More »

Fired At Forty

Fired at Forty

Being a photographer in this day and age, is not the easiest of professions. The ever changing deluge of technology has kept me on the fast track of learning. Instead of pacer car at the Indy 500, it often feels like lift off at Cape Canaveral. I dearly adore my work and embrace any challenge.

This year I had the good fortune of shooting people and places and events that one could only dream of. In doing so, I found myself in situations and experiences I have not encountered in my younger years and  I have to laugh that … Read More »

Blueberry Pie With A Twist

July 3, 2009

This past weekend marked my husband’s forty-second  birthday. Yes, that is right, I have to be spectacular two weekends in a row, since his birthday falls one week after Father’s Day.

I don’t know if you find yourself in this situation in a year’s time, but I dread having to come up with two fantabulous ideas so close together.

For Father’s Day, my son and I purchased a pond system to go in our garden, complete with fish, frogs, water lilies and lots of heavy rocks. The one thing it did not include was….  The labor. After this project my husband was … Read More »
