Rolando Santana is a new designer on the scene who deserves some major attention. I was honored to wear one of his beautiful dresses to the “Plate by Plate” event in LA last weekend (see picture below) and really have fallen in love with his chic designs. I will admit it, I am a jewelry fanatic. I can honestly say, nothing excites me more than finding a new designer who creates art you can wear. So ladies (and the men who want to impress them) I am so thrilled to share STONE by Shelly Birch with you! I met Shelly at the Creede Gem and Mineral Show in Colorado last year, and have been a fan ever since.

Shelly’s jewelry is some of the most exquisite art I have seen, as she incorporates precious metals and gorgeous stones to make custom bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings. She does most of the lapidary work herself, but travels to Indonesia several times a year to work with the Balinese people to produce her one-of-a-kind pieces (which are very reasonably priced I might add.) By purchasing Stone jewelry, the Bali economy is boosted, so it is a win-win for everyone involved.

Kalyn Hemphill is originally from Lake Jackson, TX but currently resides in Los Angeles. You might recognize her from Season 6 of Project Runway and Models of the Runway. In the past year Kalyn not only won Models of the Runway, but also the prestigious Roger Sturtevant Award, which is given to one male and one female Equity Membership Candidate who display excellence and superior talent in musical theatre. She has also sung the national anthem for many professional sporting events including her beloved Houston Astros and Rockets, and works actively in TV, commercials and modeling.

When she’s not working, Kalyn dedicates her time to volunteering, and is a passionate supporter of several charities, including the Autism Society of America and the U.S. Autism and Asperger Association and also enjoys hiking, biking, art, dance, and all things fashion related.
