How did you find out there was a need for this type of coaching?

My coaching has taken on it’s own evolution. I started doing healing work, then women’s wisdom and empowerment work, and most women want to talk about men all day long. Women would ask me how I know how to attract great men. As I looked back, I get great response from men in all areas in my life because I was in my feminine power….playful, full of life, doing the things that I love, positive about men, connected to my feminine body, inspiring, independent yet open to receiving….all of these qualities were what men craved!! These qualities get lost when a women gets older, gets consumed by work and has bad experiences from men in the past. The feminine is lost because a lot of women believe that being feminine is weak….to be successful you used to have to be masculine. Yet, when a woman would embrace the masculine, she would lose her own inner power….the essence of who she is……this would include being open to receiving, listening to her body wisdom, receiving simple pleasure as her birthright, embracing her femininity, connecting to her body, embracing the playful side, owning her inner warrior power……all the things that men are enchanted by a woman.

How does your coaching help women to better their lives…sensually and overall?

The women I coach are women who are in their heads and not in their feminine sensual bodies. They are disconnected from their bodies because they don’t know how or they have had bad experiences from the past that embracing the body isn’t safe. They, also, are so consumed by work and are in their masculine so much, that they forget how it feels to be flirty, feminine and fun.

Women better their lives because I teach them how to build that muscle of self love, I teach them how to bring simple pleasure in their lives….like enjoying the smell a rose…..eating a piece of chocolate slowly to really taste the textures….women are able to feel safe embracing their feminine and sensual power and know that it’s a different form of power….women feel happier, more positive, more radiant…..women are able to heal relationships from the past that have caused them pain….to move on and forgive…..they heal their negative beliefs about men.

Most of all, the biggest response is that they feel excited about life and dating, they celebrate their lives more, they have more fun, dating is exciting again, they feel more connected to their bodies…..they are experiencing more bliss, pleasure and joy in their lives!!

What advice would you give to someone considering starting a business?

Don’t ever give up on your dreams. Starting your own business isn’t easy, but you can’t give up. Hire a coach, get support, be in a mastermind….get excited and stay focused on your goals…your dream life!

Has your coaching been a benefit to your personal life?

Of course! I practice what I preach…..I coach myself all the time and receive support when needed. I love what I teach women because I live what I teach as well.

What is the best professional advice you’ve ever received?

“Why are you letting the haters get to you? Get back up and just do it! If you fail you will learn why and do it better on your next project!”

Balanced development and growth for me as a person. Adventure in a balanced healthy life. How did the concept for Lusso Bags come about?

Lusso Bags was created after hearing my cousin talk about her trip to India in the summer of 2010. She visited a company called Freeset that employs women that have had the opportunity to leave the sex trade to become a seamstress. One of the women spoke in a meeting asking that their visitors go home and tell others to send patterns that are simple so they could keep working and help more women. I thought, “Well, I make a simple drawstring bag to hold shoes in while I travel, why not order some and sell them to help out?”

I ordered 1,000 bags and started Lusso Bags.

What have been the keys to success for Lusso Bags?

Staying true to the cause behind what we do. Yes, we sell bags but more importantly we are raising awareness and giving back to help more women leave the sex trade.

Is there one thing you would do over regarding the success of Lasso Bags?

I would have started this a long time ago. I had no idea that I could contribute in this capacity.

How did it feel when your business made its first profit?

The first few sales were so exciting. 5 bags sold is equal to a day of wages for one of the women that makes them. I look at how many have sold and calculate how many women we have helped. My only wish is to sell more so they can work.

What has been the hardest part of Lusso Bags journey from concept to success?

1. Realizing the devastation of human trafficking worldwide as I learn more and more about what is happening.

2. Working from home as an entrepreneur can get lonely at times.

What is your future plans for Lusso Bags?

As soon as sales are up and we are making a profit, I would like to change the giving back aspect. Instead of giving back 5% of sales to the women, I would like to give back 100% of profits.

What has been the easiest part of the journey?

Knowing that we are helping women gain freedom by working outside of the sex trade makes this worth every ounce of energy I put into Lusso Bags.

Where did the concept for Girlfriendcircles.com come from?

From several moves for jobs, working from home, and a divorce– I know from personal experience that even those among us who are extroverted, social and friendly still can have an incredibly difficult time starting over when it comes to making new friends. I just kept hearing, from amazing women, that they felt like everyone else had good local friends except them. And when one woman said “I could line up three dates on match.com next week but far be it from me to know how to start friend dating,” I knew that we could make the process a wee bit easier!

How does Girlfriendcircles.com meet the connection and social needs of women?

GirlFriendCircles.com matches women from ages 21-65 in small groups in their age range to other local women who value new friends. We introduce women to potential friends in 35 cities through these ConnectingCircles in neighborhood cafes. Members can also search our databases to find friends, set up classifieds to request specific friends, or post events of their own on our calendar for other women to attend. Because of my coaching background I also provide a lot of structure, inspiration, and guidance through blogging, videos, and other resources to help ensure healthy expectations as we engage in new friendships.

What advice would you give a person considering starting their own business?

I recently heard that it takes about 1,000 days for an idea to take hold. My advice would be to make sure that anyone starting something is ready to really care about this for long enough to let it bloom. You can have the best idea in the world but it still takes time for the word to get out, for you to work out the kinks, and to build a brand you’re proud to stand by. And during those one thousand days– try to spend as much of your time doing the part of the business you enjoy the most!

What do you have in mind for the future of Girlfriendcircles.com?

I’m about to sign a book deal on female friendships so I will be working hard on that in the upcoming months, in addition to a few other projects I have dancing in my head. Part of my work around women’s friendships has to do with our personal growth too. That we show up with more courage, power, compassion, and creativity when we have healthy self respect and meaningful support systems. The two– personal growth and relational health– are intrinsically connected. I have a lot of contributions I still want to make in helping us women feel our own worth and power, which includes learning how to cheer for each other and support other women at higher levels that we are currently offering! I’ll keep you posted!
