The book draws heavily from his years of experience in the money management industry. Holger's goal was to make it entertaining and easy to understand, while adding a level of authenticity that's frequently missing from fiction centered upon the financial world. Hedge Fund's engaging plot and realism combine to make it appeal to a broad audience.
Excerpt:
Jasper left feeling upbeat. This was by far his best meeting of the trip, making the whole journey feel worthwhile.
For the meeting in Connecticut, he took a cab to Grand Central Station, where he ate a tuna fish sandwich on the run before boarding the train for the forty-minute ride to Greenwich. After settling in on the train, he started going through his email until his BlackBerry died. The recharger was the one thing he had somehow forgotten to pack, and this oversight now caught up with him. He had planned to call the office next to check in again, but that wasn't going to happen, either. However, this wasn't of great concern to him, since he was flying home after this meeting and would be back in the office on Monday. Angie he could call on a pay phone from JFK. Having just had a great meeting, with only one more to go, he was in a cheery mood, like a marathoner who had turned the final corner and now had the finish line in sight.
From the train station in Greenwich, he took a taxi to the client's house. Along the way, he was impressed by the elegant estates he passed. Jasper had been to Greenwich before, but not since he was a child. Today's captains of industry had taken opulence to whole new levels. Ultra-successful hedge fund managers and high finance magnates had overrun the little town with new money. Lavish mansions of immense dimensions with excessively manicured grounds endeavored to one-up those around them. A few old estates they passed were being torn down to make way for the newest monstrosities and symbols of decadence. Jasper was filled with mixed emotions about the past needing to be destroyed to pave the way for the future. The ride also reminded him just how much the Wall Street crowd were now the masters of the universe, the upper echelon, which he was striving to join-minus the vulgar mansion.
"Actually, it's the quickest way to go these days, sir...they're doing construction on the main road."
"Are you charging me extra for the tour?"
"No, sir, it's on the house."

It seems like a good read.
I'm actually a student at Uconn right now and I found this page through the linkedin alumni website. I will keep in mind to find this book, especially since it is from a Uconn alumni.
I'm very interested in the reading and the financial world so this seems like a treat.
