I had the pleasure of experiencing the Abrione Red Wine Body Scrub from VB Cosmetics.  I have to be honest in saying that I am not a big fan of body scrubs.  I am one of those people that likes to see bubbles in my shower to reinforce my delusional belief that bubbles mean I am clean. 

Well I was pleasantly surprised by the Red Wine Body Scrub.  Although the directions said to use a puff or facial cloth I applied the product with my hand to better experience the feel of the scrub.  I prefer scrubs that have small particles of Diatomaceous earth in them as opposed to large and the Red Wine scrub has just that.  I followed the directions and rinsed with cool water and the overall feeling was relaxing and re-juvanating. 

After using the scrub my skin was soft--and without using lotion.  What remained on my skin was a clean smell and a fantastic tingling sensation all over my body from the peppermint and menthol in the scrub.  As an added bonus my bathroom smelled great!  Even two hours later my skin was soft, smelled clean, and felt refreshed from the peppermint and menthol.

I tried  Nail Lacquers by Nubar and I really was impressed by the fact that these nail lacquers do not contain formaldehyde, toluene, or phthalate (DBP).  These agents are known to be carcinogenic.  I loved the look of the bottle.  I also liked the way the grip was not slick, but textured, so I could get it open, even with wet nails on the other hand! 

I used the Magic Buffer to prep my nails, and it was wonderful! They were so shiny and smooth that I could've just put on a clear top coat and been just fine.

We all know that there are a ton of high priced beauty products on the shelves and available on line, that offer a myriad of promises along with their sometimes-outrageous price tags.  While it stands true that sometimes you do get what you pay for, with beauty care this is not always the case.  Fortunately there are many beauty care products available that do a great job without leaving you with an empty wallet.  Check out a few of my picks:
 

Skin Appetit by Keri Glassman

Sally Hansen

Widely known for their Hard as Nails nail products, the company has greatly expanded its line of nail related items over the years.  Here's a tip:  a lot of what makes for nice fingernails, especially if you want length on them, has to do with daily maintenance.  You can buy more expensive nail protein polishes but if you apply a Sally Hansen polish product daily and moisturize with cuticle cream or oil regularly, you will likely get equal results.
 

Vaseline

Tyra Banks named this as her number one beauty secret and with its myriad of uses, I can see why.  Try loading this on to your feet and putting on socks before bed to wake up with glorious tootsies.  Use a little on your eyebrows to keep them in place and give them a subtle hint of sheen.  Unsurpassed as a lip conditioner, any time of day or right before hitting the hay!  
 

Hydrogen Peroxide

Dilute this with a little water and use it as a mouth rinse to promote whiter teeth.  If you have acne, get a cotton swab and dab a bit on pimple to help dry them up over night.  It also makes a fine toner, removing any left over dirt or makeup after cleansing. (Be sure to follow up with a good moisturizer.) 
 

Neutrogena

They make tons of highly effective, reasonably priced beauty related products including, anti residue shampoo, self tanners, hand cream and the sunscreen my dermatologist recommends, with Helioplex.  
 

As you can see, you don't have to spend a pretty penny to look sharp.  These and other grocery and drug store products can give you great results without breaking the bank.  What could be better than looking good while feeling good about your fabulous, thrifty beauty care finds?  Be a catalyst with your neighbors, friends and family and remind them that beauty doesn't have to expensive.  Looking great on a budget is smart and easy.
