Curator Sir Norman Rosenthal Leads November Art Talks at 92Y | September 22, 2010

This November, Manhattan’s 92Y will host ”Art in Context with Sir Norman Rosenthal,” a series of talks moderated by the former Secretary of Exhibitions at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

For the series, Sir Norman Rosenthal will speak with Anselm Kiefer (Tuesday, November 2), whose work often addresses the consequences of war, and painter Julian Schnabel (Thursday, November 11), who directed Basquiat and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly.

92Y Offers Ceramic Workshop in Tuscany | September 15, 2010

Manhattan’s 92Y is offering a unique opportunity to artists who love to travel: The organization’s Ceramics Center director, Bobby Silverman, will lead a 10-day soda-firing workshop at Tuscany’s La Meridiana, the International Center for Ceramic Art, from October 2 through October 12. Not only will participants refine their skills, but they will also enjoy local culture via tastings and side trips to Florence and Siena.
