Delicious Banana Bread | October 19, 2010

I know there are tons of banana bread recipes out there but this is my favorite. It is so good with coffee in the morning or in the evening with tea. The kids love to find it in their lunch box or having it as a snack after school. Next time you have some over ripe bananas try this recipe out. I usually never make the topping and just make the banana bread mixture but if you want to try it out I have it for you below.

Delicious Banana Bread

Servings: 8

Ingredients:

1 cup of butter
1/4 cup sugar
4 teaspoons of vanilla extract

Oat and Beer Bread | May 14, 2010

I have made beer bread before but when I saw this recipe, I wanted to try it. I love to bake our bread and I knew the oats would lend it a whole different flavor.  I was right. It’s amazing bread. It makes a HUGE amount of dough and the recipe says to put it into two regular sized loaf pans. I would suggest to do that even though it looks like a lot. I used two Pullman loaf pans and so the loaves, although tasty, are short.

Be sure not to eat the bread all in one sitting. This makes … Read More »

Eating Well Should Be Healthy Too! | February 16, 2010

by Jeff Hertzberg, M.D., and Zoë François, Authors of Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day: 100 New Recipes Featuring Whole Grains, Fruits, Vegetables, and Gluten-Free Ingredients

After the release of our first book, Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, in 2007, we started hearing from our readers. Many of them wanted to share their experiences with our innovative, time-saving, based on long-term dough storage. Many others had questions, so we set up a website and blog that were designed for questions and discussion.  Most of the questions directed at me sounded something like this: “You’re the doctor, … Read More »

Wine Cheese Bread | January 14, 2010

How about a little cheese with your wine? Bread that is.  I wanted something special to go with dinner so that’s what I baked today – Wine Cheese Bread and it was FABU! While it is a yeast bread, the end result is almost closer to a quick bread in texture.  This was an easy bread to make with few ingredients, like most bread.

You’ll want to combine the first four ingredients in a saucepan.  Cook over low heat until very warm. I usually gauge this by when the butter is just about all melted but you can measure that around … Read More »

Slimming Lemon Zucchini Bread | December 18, 2009

This is the most delicious and softest zucchini bread you will ever bake. With the addition of ONO Slim it Sencha, it is the perfect breakfast treat that is packed with antioxidants and slimming power.  A recent study has shown that daily catechin intake (588mg of catechin for 12 weeks) can reduce weight, especially body fat. Catechin is produced in the tea plant to protect it against UVB radiation, and Sencha is the most exposed to the sunlight. As a result, Sencha leaves have the most catechin and slimming power.  I love to enjoy this bread with a cup of … Read More »

Beer Batter Bread | December 15, 2009

I was sitting here watching football and realized that beer is really a nice partner with football given all the ads for beer shown during the breaks.  So I decided to make Beer Batter Bread. This is a yummy yeast bread that is moist,  flavorful and extra easy to make.

First you’ll want to grease and 8×4 inch loaf pan, sprinkle it with cornmeal, and set it aside.

In the bowl of your mixer,  combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast and mix to blend.

In small saucepan, combine beer, butter and honey and heat to very warm. I usually gauge the proper temperature … Read More »
