Are You Spatial Yet? | December 2, 2008

Sometimes I read through design magazines and think how impractical, or just nonfunctional some of the things I see are.

And sometimes I go into stores that are full of fabulous finds, so creative in their display and their merchandising, but when I go through the silent thought processes of where I would put this cool piece or that one, I realize I would have to change the whole look of my room or house to accommodate it.

Using Pillows For A Fresh New Look | November 20, 2008

We love fall.  It’s the gathering season.  We start to plan our Thanksgiving menus and Christmas gatherings.  If you are like me, you also turn a critical eye on your gathering space, seeing what your guests will see when they aren’t eating or watching football.

If a major redo isn’t what you have in mind, something as simple as new pillows can pull your look together and give you the fresh feel you want.  Furnishings are fashion just as clothing is, so accessorizing and replacing come with the territory.

Choosing Color Doesn’t Have To Be Paint ful | November 17, 2008

I love my store.  By that I mean I love my customers.  Or I really mean I love the combination of customers that share their needs so it helps me to shape the direction of the store, as well as hone what I can offer as a decorator/designer/consultant.

One thing we hear repeatedly that is frustrating to customers is paint.  Not painting, physically, but choosing paint & paint color.  It’s universal, it seems.  And I believe you either have the eye for color, or you don’t.  I fall into the latter camp.
