Dreaming of Marc Jacobs | March 5, 2010

Marc Jacobs recently showed his Fall/Winter 2010 collection at New York fashion week. The entire collection was absolutely stunning. MJ, who is normally known for the multitude of layers and colours in his collection – displayed a more whimsical and softer side.

His pieces were a multitude of neutrals in varying shades of grey, camel, tan, black, navys and creams. Instead of the collection being one that defines “trends” for the season – the collection was amazingly filled with more classic pieces wrapped up in the most beautiful fur coats and cardigans.

While the silhouettes may have been more classic, the materials … Read More »

Leanne Marshall Fall 2010 | February 18, 2010

Leanne Marshall debuted her Fall 2010 collection on Sunday, February 14, 2010.  Her collection showcased her attention to detail and her love for beauty.  Rather than having the models walk down the runway to loud and abrasive music, Marshall used soft, elegant music that put the audience at ease and matched well with her elegant collection.

The skirts and dresses were very refreshing to look at.  I loved the fact that she was not afraid to use colors like blue and yellow for fall.  Often times the city can feel very drab in the fall with everyone wearing mostly blacks and … Read More »

Back in the 80’s, I … Read More »

I Choo Choo Choose These! | February 5, 2010

Attention all resident fashionistas! I was just made aware of the newest concept for  Jimmy Choo’s Spring Summer 2010 collection, aptly titled CHOO 24:7. Founder and President Tamara Mellon wanted this season’s footwear to still embody the chic and iconic look that this brand has cultivated; yet with a few new sleek designs.  She has created ten investment pieces that will fit in anyone’s closet.

The inspiration for CHOO 24:7 came from Tamara herself. She wanted staple pieces that would work with her own wardrobe that would stand the test of time, remain fashionable, wearable and reliable. In doing so, however, she … Read More »

One of the best ways of solving this problem is by shopping on the internet. The internet saves a lot of trouble when it comes to finding what you want as it doesn’t have the problem that stores face – not having enough room to put everything in the range. Online stores have the ability to display everything and offer every size option to their customers as … Read More »

How to Wear Animal Prints | January 28, 2010

We live a mile from the zoo. A favorite adventure for my daughter. A short car ride in the winter. A short walk in the summer. And at the end of the trek—tigers, zebras, leopards—oh my. It’s not a big zoo, so no lions. Sorry, Dorothy.

Also an adventure (one that could end in disaster) is trying to incorporate these fun prints into your wardrobe.

When it comes to wearing animal prints, the “less is more” concept is more important than ever. Here are a few easy tips for adding a pop into your outfit.

Don’t matchy match. The thought of snakeskin shoes … Read More »

How Strong Are Your Shoulders? | January 27, 2010

It’s a flashback to the 1980’s, powersuits with the reintroduction of strong shoulders. Although this seasons interpretation of strong shoulders is more sophisticated and dramatic ,it still conveys the message of strength and femininity.

The best way to incorporate this trend into your wardrobe is to choose a strong shouldered look in a neutral colour. Stick with black, white, gray or even beige, but don’t try to wear a strong shoulder with an even stronger colour like blue, red or green.

It is the perfect trend for a more formal event or a day at the office.  If … Read More »

Born To Ride or at Least Look Like It | January 22, 2010

Aaahh, the motorcycle jacket!

Does it ever really go out of style? I mean, come on, the pink jacket is from Harley Davidson. Everyone knows that Harley Davidson is iconic when it comes to motorcycle jackets.

This season, we are seeing motorcycle jackets in a variety of styles, colors, and fabric. I, personally, was surprised at how much I liked it when I saw the motorcycle jacket in light blue. Stray from the traditional black? What? But, I like it! I like seeing the standard motorcycle jacket in other colors.

The black faux leather jacket from Target, that you see, also comes in a beautiful … Read More »
