Pravana’s Fresh! Volumizing Dry Shampoo | May 26, 2010

After trying Pravana’s Fresh! Volumizing Dry Shampoo ($9.00) I am a believer of this fantastic product.  If your fresh blowout needs a pick me up this is definitely the dry shampoo of choice not to mention it smells great.  Fresh! works by ‘dry’ cleaning hair with natural anti-bacterial ingredients that target, attack and eliminate odor causing germs.  Natural absorbents trap and remove oils, leaving hair fresh and replete with volume.

This highly effective dual-action formula is dry, weightless and works without the use of water on those days when there isn’t the time or place to wash, dry and style.

If you … Read More »

Styling Products To Keep or Not Too Keep | February 8, 2010

Let’s be honest here for a moment, I know I have spent a ton of money on every frizz fighting product known to women!  I have Rosanna Danna (Saturday Night Live) hair or if you don’t know her I have Chia Pet Hair.  When the humidity levels rise, I sing the song “Cha Cha Chia”  my hair grows 12 inches wider!  It is beautiful, trust me…NOT!

In my years of searching for the greatest frizz product available I tried this product called Living Proof (and it works, halleluiah!!) from Sephora.  What I love about Sephora is that they give you samples … Read More »

Unlocking A Gift of Love | February 4, 2010

A while back, my daughter was six.  Then, she turned seven.   A while back, my daughter repeatedly asked me to replay her favorite episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants™.  Not much later, she asked to watch an HBO special called “Locks of Love: the Kindest Cut” over and over again.  The documentary chronicles an organization that collects hair donations to make wigs for children who have lost their hair. My daughter’s first viewing was followed by many, many questions.

“Where did their hair go?” she asked.

“The children are not well,” I replied.  “Sometimes sickness makes hair fall out.  Sometimes medicine makes hair fall … Read More »

Going Gray; The Real Deal | October 26, 2009

About 3 years ago I made a decision to stop coloring my hair. It seemed like no big deal at the time.  I mean, it is my hair, right?  People change their hair all of the time without big repercussions, right?  Well, it is NOT SO when you choose to go GRAY!

It so happens that my hair has lots of white and gray in it.  The criticism from family, friends, even strangers, came almost immediately!

Let me tell you why I quit “the bottle”.  First, my hair is (was) brown. Brown hair dye fades almost immediately!  It is not like bleach for … Read More »
