Italian Romance: Rolando Santana’s Spring Summer 2012 Collection | September 19, 2011

Having been diagnosed with a serious shoe addiction, I was SO EXCITED and anxious to see Rolando Santana’s collaboration with Manolo Blahnik at his runway show on Wednesday night at Exit Art Gallery. The gallery was packed with people stirring about what would be in his line for the spring summer season 2012. Socialites and celebrities such as Stephen Baldwin graced the front row. As the fashion industry does so well, the show started a bit fashionably late—but was completely worth the wait! Imagine yourself walking through the streets of Italy. The romantic setting and classic style is all around … Read More »

Breil Milano “Bloom” Collection | January 7, 2011

Breil Milano is an Italian watch brand founded in 1939. In the 1990’s the company expanded to include jewelry collections for both women and men. Breil is known for its Milanese design and use of innovative materials.

The necklace I’m wearing is from the “Bloom” Collection made from stainless steel, which is unusual for such feminine jewelry.  It retails for $135.

The hollow pendant opens to reveal cascading layers of chains with spherical charms.  It’s perfect for a day-to-night look.  Versions of this necklace were also made with mother-of pearl and bead accents.

The entire collection was developed around the idea of “versatility” … Read More »

Whether it’s a favorite restaurant, favorite hotel, or favorite site to see, I want to start documenting some of Jet Set Smart’s “favorites” for our destinations. WHERE TO EAT:
Da Paolino Restaurant: This restaurant is a beautiful dinner spot and really represents what Capri is about to me…lemons! In fact, the tables are set within their beautiful lemon … Read More »

Embracing the Essence of Italy | November 8, 2009

“I came, I saw, I crawled” is embroidered on one of my Italian tee-shirts – and for good reason. In Italy, I hit the tarmac running, knowing that a lifetime is not enough to see the art, savor the food, and soak up the history; yet determined to encrust my slice of Italy with every facet of fun.

This year, while planning to cram Sorrento into Rome — after all, it is just a day trip by train — I thought about vacation and what it means to me. New vistas, yes; exhaustion, no. Leisurely dining is lauded, but who in … Read More »
