While shopping in a local gift shop, I spied the cutest fortune cookie soap displayed in a Chinese take-out box. After a closer look, I realized that the company is based right here in Tulsa. I contacted Shannon Prokop, co-owner of Fortune Cookie Soap, and found quite a gem right in my own backyard.Shannon, can you share a little bit about your business and how you got started?
We specialize in hand folded fortune cookie soaps. My Husband and I got started about 5 years ago just making soap for friends and family. Our coffee table in our apartment in California was where it all began. As luck would have it, one of our soaps was seen by a nationwide franchise and they loved it and decided to carry it in all their stores. We've now grown to include our own retail website that supplies retail stores across the country. The main focus of our company is customizing our fortune cookies for any event.
Where do you draw inspiration for your products?
We get a lot of inspiration from the fashion industry. Our customers like what's trendy as far as colors and fragrances.
What products have been your best sellers?
Hands down, our custom fortune cookies!
What are your future plans for Fortune Cookie Soap?
The sky's the limit. It's exciting to see the growth that we've been blessed with so far. We look forward to meeting new people, and growing both personally and as a company.
