"I'm so proud to call myself a Momprenuer," says Daria Muirhead. "I created Boutique Cafe, a podcast and website for women and momprenuers back in 2005. Back then, podcasting was a new phenomenon and we were the very first boutique podcast. There really wasn't alot of information out there about podcasting at the time, my husband and I just knew it was a cool medium that we wanted to be a part of. So we did our research, bought the audio equipment, and jumped right in. Since then, Boutique Cafe has grown in so many ways, by featuring all things inspired for fashion-savvy moms, working moms and so on. I feel like Boutique Cafe has grown along with me, the vast audience of women who listen to our show have also become part of our family and have seen me through the babyhood of my children, our impending adoption and more. I knew that I wanted to help women discover and follow their passions and dreams, Boutique Cafe affords me the luxury of doing what I love from my home studio, while assisting hundreds of businesses large and small to get attention." "I guess you could say that our product is our show! For me the inspiration for Boutique Cafe came from seeing the talented hard-working women all around me. I saw moms doing their businesses from home because they needed to help make ends meet, but it also afforded them the chance to be creative. There's nothing more inspiring than a great idea and someone with the drive to see it through. I also continue to be inspired by mothers in all situations, who cherish their children, and crave friendships and support. Bottom line, it's easy to rave about them, I admire them greatly and get huge satisfaction from shining the spotlight on their pursuits."
"For me, one of the highlights of my entire Boutique Cafe career was the conference for women we held in 2007, in Salt Lake City. We called it our, "Boutique Cafe Girls Getaway" and it brought together women from across the US and Canada. Women gathered to connect, network and fill their cups of couture. Our special guests were Charlene May the founder of Greggy Girl, and Carrie Miner the owner of Puddle Jumper Shoes. The event featured our resident fashion expert Amelia Werneke, and sponsors such as Fiji Water, Greggy Girl, DesignHer Gals, Shade Clothing and more. The best part of the event was honestly the feeling that was present, it was a very personal and amazing experience. Our attendees felt nourished by the information but mostly the friendships and connections they made, it's going to be hard to top that one (but we'll try)!""As social media changes everyday it's hard to pin down exactly where we'll all be in the next 5 years. Right now we are working on a site redesign to incorporate more of our video shows. We also are reaching out online in places like Twitter and Facebook to connect with women across the globe in a bigger way. The Sky's the Limit, and if there's one thing I've learned while doing this for the past several years, it's that amazing things can happen!"
