"Rachel and I wanted to invent something,"says Katie. "I was a full-time student, mom, and wife, and Rachel was single with a full-time job. We had a friend who had invented a toy and was in the beginning stages of marketing it, and it looked like fun. So we started brainstorming ideas."
"We discussed some problems that we were both having with our wardrobes because we knew that if we could find a solution to a problem that didn't already exist then we could be on to something. We both have long torsos and when I was pregnant I really wanted something to wear around my waist to keep the breeze out. We wanted something to be so versatile that any woman could wear it whether she was pregnant or not. That didn't exist, so we decided to design it and market it. It is our favorite thing to hear people's first reaction to our product; it's always 'Oh my gosh, where has this been all my life!' That's a really good feeling."
"Our bestselling colors are the basic; black, white and brown," she explains. "However, we encourage people to spice up their wardrobes with our vibrant colors and patterns as well as our lace designs."
"We have been featured on a few different TV shows (check them out on the press section on our website), but our biggest news is that a showroom picked up our line this year and we are excited about the large retailers that are showing lots of interest in our product. We'll announce soon where Blush is going to be, but it's BIG and we're very excited. Stay tuned to a local store near you! We also have plans for a couple more products that will really help other parts of our wardrobes in a big way."
