While I'll walk the streets of SoHo for hours, I'm not a big mall shopper. There are many reasons for this "phobia" I have developed. Florescent lighting, mirrors that always make me look 10 pounds heavier and kiosk people trying to do something to my nails or spray me with something.
Since I spend a majority of my time sitting at my computer, I have learned how to be an very savvy internet shopper.
Recently I found Hot Moon Collections. Gabrielle Ruvolo, owner of Hot Moon Collections is all about styling for woman over 40. BINGO! Sorry, did I just admit my age in public?
So what is Hot Moon Collections all about Gabrielle?
"We understand women over 40 are often overlooked in the fashion world. By offering a place of their own, and a collection of their own, and with a simple approach, we can help remove the added stress out of shopping."
I think she was feeling me there. I'm all about simple!
"I wanted a store that was hip and elegant that drew something from a calm, inviting and uncluttered space, speaking to women about themselves and helping them to navigate through this new transition in life."
I've been navigating this transition for awhile now. Not without several bumps along the way for sure.
"Hot Moon Collection encourages and inspires a woman to feel confident and honor the woman she has become. Our goal is to provide women with quality pieces selected from unique talented fashion designers, such as Elm Design, sophisticated designs from three women designers of Iceland, Sarah Pacini from Belgium, classy and comfy, elegant cashmere from Yarnz. And always looking out for the environment we bring you eco-friendly Coyuchi loungewear. Beauty products from France and the compelling skincare line from La Peau of Switzerland are selected to make the perfect effect memorable."
Seriously, cashmere! She speaks my language.
Hot Moon Collection just announced the launch of an expanded designer collection, including two new lines of handbags, livingwear, easing the line between in and out wear and a jewelry line of precious stones and pure gold, all offering women a chance to stay in step with style and all with a new perspective on how to live and dress for all of life's activities.

I really like this style.I also like the sleeve going over the hand.
Love this cashmere sweater! It's definitely something I would consider putting my clients in with some dark jeans or nice leggings with cute pumps! :)

I have purchased several items from the Hot Moon collection and love them all.
Not that I need any more reasons to shop...but I may have just found another one! Being a middle school teacher (and suffering from Peter Pan syndrome to begin with) I find myself perplexed with not only where to shop, but what to wear. I obviously don't want to wear to work the same clothes that I would wear out to a dinner or an evening out with friends. Being constantly surrounded by younger people I find all too often that I migrate towards the under 20 style shops...only to be seriously aggitated that my "all to close to 40" hips do not fit the double zeros being offered at stores such as Hollister and Abercrombie. Nothing against those two stores...great places...I am just at a point in my life where I not only no longer want to date the men who shop in those stores, I also don't want to continue to be mistaken for an older college student. As I do move through life I have found my style has evolved (and sometimes regressed!) many times and I have to say that I am at a point where elegance and grace play a pivitol role in who I see in my mind's eye. Of course, don't get me wrong...at home I am strictly an ugg boots and boxers kinda gal! I want to grow old gracefully and elegant (can I channel Katherine Hepburn here?)yet fight it tooth and nail every step of the way! I am fairly certain I am going to be doing some online shopping tonight when I get home! Hot Moon has amazing style and some stunning pieces...cashmere just sounds yummy no matter the season...and I need...no...MUST HAVE that red sweater!
And Beth...as I near 40 in two months...I hope and pray that I cary myself with the style and polished appearance that you do! If I look that fabulous at 40 I will be taking out airtime at next years superbowl! Girl...you should be shouting your age over the jumbotron at Madison Square Gardens!Never fear admitting it in public!
Ok, now Theresa....I'm seriously blushing. I have to admit that I'm an Ugg boot and pj pants kinda gal at home. Love the whole concept of Hot Moon for sure.
