As the owner of Eye Kandy Glasses, Kimberly Cass hand paints wine, martini and cafe mugs with sassy designs & edgy phrases. Each glass comes with a delicious drink recipe. She comes up with themes that make people laugh and themes they can recognize in themselves like: Born a Shopoholic, Death-by-Chocolate, Happily Divorced, Flirtini, Dieting Again, Shoe-holic, Drama Queen, PMS and many more. My art style is feminine.
Kimberly is a mommy, wife and artist. I worked in the law field for many years, but found it too terribly dry and corporate for my taste. I have been painting since I was a small child. I have traveled all over the world and I draw inspiration for the fun things I have seen. People fascinate me! I love being a woman and celebrating that. It’s fun.
I asked Kimberly to share with us where she draws her inspiration. From life! Life is so crazy and funny and we are all on this ride called “life” together. As women, we experience so many similar things, motherhood, dieting, break-ups, marriages, a love for shopping and more. Why not create a fun way to celebrate it all? I am also going to do a breast cancer glass soon. When I can, I donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation & the American Cancer Society. It’s so important to give back. Cancer/Breast Cancer Awareness is a cause that’s important to me.
Eye Kandy Glasses best sellers are: Born a Shopoholic, Girlfriends and Birthday. I hand paint square plates as well- the “Girlfriends” series is really popular. I started this little business small and it’s really grown. I have learned and made mistakes along the way. I also know I have more to learn. What I love about my glassware? I see women laugh and nod and say “this is ME!”. There is a connection there. It’s a cool thing. Life is so serious all of the time, I like to step back and have a laugh when I can. Of course when people tell me “I love your glasses Kim! They are so cute!” It’s nice to hear that to. People are so nice.
Kimberly, what are your plans for the future?
Taking a nap! I am realizing I am only one person, the orders come in so fast, it is hard to keep up. Bigger wholesale orders from gift shops for example can be a challenge. I want to make sure I get them their orders on time. I always do ~ each item I paint by hand. Long term? I many consider selling Eye Kandy to a ceramics company. I can’t mass produce thousands, I am one person. Or I may keep it a small company. I am enjoying it for now. I love to add little freebies in with my glass orders, as well as my signature polka dot gift bags & matching tissue paper. Seeing people enjoy my items makes me happy.
Starting in December, 2008, I am offering sales consultant positions for Eye Kandy Glassware. I will also offer home party kits called “Sass by the Glass!” so women can have fun girls-night-out and make a little money. And last, but not least I have to mention that my “home base” store is Born to Shop Boutique in Dunedin, FL. If you are local, feel free to stop by, see the glassware collection or just chat!

Kims glasses are AWESOME! Her attention to detail, her penchant for fun and ability to get them to me on time, in one piece and accessorized is amazing! I will continue to purchase glassware from her, and know that she gives her all!

I bought a few of Kim’s glasses some friends and they were thrilled to death! Each glass is a one-of-a-kind original and totally unique. Somebody should send Oprah a set of them so she could rave about them on the air!

Why yes! Oprah herself would love a swanky set of my glassware! She’s a fabulous woman herself! And I love this chic galleria website! Ooo la la! Thanks for the kind words.
