With football season quickly approaching (Go Dawgs), I want to share one of my favorite go-to tailgating foods. If you are anything like me, sports, especially football is something you look forward to from the moment the season ends till it starts back up. I mean who doesn’t like getting dressed up in your favorite team’s jersey, hanging out with friends, enjoying a good meal and most importantly cheering on your team. With this being said, game day can be crazy and the last thing you want to do it spend a majority of your time cooking and preparing meals. Below I will share with you a recipe that will easily make your tailgating spot everyone’s favorite stop.
Mini Hamburger Sliders
1 pound ground beef
1 block (8 ounce) cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon mayonnaise
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 package (12 count) mini hamburger/slider buns (if you can’t find these, you can use Hawaiian rolls or dinner rolls)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Shred 1/2 block of the cheddar cheese (should yield about 1 cup).
Slice the other half of the cheese block into 12 thin slices and wrap in saran wrap and put back in refrigerator.
In a medium sized bowl, thoroughly mix ground beef, 1 cup shredded cheese, mayonnaise, and garlic powder.
Press/flatten meat into a well sprayed 9×13 pan to form a thin layer (about ¼ thick).
Bake for approximately 25 minutes until cooked through.
Remove from oven (but leave oven on) and cut meat into 12 squares.
Place on buns and top with slices of cheese.
Put the sliders in a large, sprayed baking dish, cover with foil and bake for 10-15 minutes.
I mean how good do these look? They are so easy to make and everyone enjoys them. They are seriously the best go-to finger food. Another fun thing about these is you can make them with whatever you want. Maybe you don’t like mayo or you want to add lettuce and tomato. So at your next game day try these out and let us know what you think. Oh and Go Dawgs (:
