The Beginning
I’ve been writing books and doing motivational speaking since I was 19 years old. I traveled the nation speaking at women’s events and hosting my own annual conference and courses. Each year, thousands of women and teens were showing up to my conference to be inspired to achieve. My mission was to motivate women to succeed. My message was about success, but one that would fit any woman in any circumstance. I have always wanted to help women find their passion then profit from it. Most people just don’t know how to make this happen. They have never been taught how to do business, love it and be able to live off of it. So, when women would leave my live events they would always call back asking for more. The constant requests for private mentoring and business guidance motivated me to begin success coaching. It was the best avenue to do what I love and help others do what they love.
The Balancing Act
My secret to staying balanced is meditation. Taking 20 minutes every day to sit quietly and relax while thinking about your dreams, goals and assignments helps you to realign what matters most. It’s also good to tune into your inner voice, to ignite your creativity and find solutions to achieve your goals. Meditation makes it easier to see solutions and stay optimistic about life’s outcomes. Plus it keeps your mind from going in a thousand directions. Planning is also a very important to staying balanced. Writing out a strategy to get my work done or even just creating a simple to-do list gives me a feeling of focus. I can plan everything in my life… vacations, time with family or business projects and meetings. Plans bring balance because you have a road map to accomplishing all that you want to get done. You’re more likely to do what is written. Reviewing your plans keeps you on track and reminds you of other commitments that you should give attention to.
Looking Back
There are always challenges you face as you go from level to level in business. One of the biggest obstacles I faced was switching from general life coaching to business coaching. Because I had to fine-tune my audience and start marketing to a specific client. After building my audience to hundreds of thousands of followers, it’s a big leap to narrow your focus down to one area. Though it was challenging, we did really well. In fact more than half of my followers joined my new programs.
Loving What You Do
The best part of my work is seeing my clients succeed. It still amazes me to see a person go from just an idea to earning income, after we customize a model. When you’ve helped someone articulate their passion and transform it into a viable business it’s a great feeling. I love celebrating their accomplishment and success as well. It brings me so much joy knowing that someone was able to learn from me and take that information and profit from it in their own lives. Since I was a teen, I’ve always wanted to impact women in a positive way, their success is my success.
