Oh sunglasses…I have a love/hate relationship with sunglasses. It’s never easy to find a new pair, but when you do, there’s no better feeling. After spending so much time trying to find the perfect frame, I make sure to get as much usage out of my sunnies as I can. I get attached to all my sunglasses and wear the same pairs forever because of how much of a pain it is to find new ones. But as it turns out, it’s not actually as hard to find the right pair if you know one thing… Here are the perfect styles for you based off of your face shape:
Sunglasses for Round Faces
For those with round shaped faces, the goal is to make the face seem thinner and longer. So look for a frame that is wider than it is deep. Oversized, rectangular, and angular frames can help narrow a round face. Definitely try to avoid rounded styles as they accentuate facial roundness.
Sunglasses for Heart Faces
A heart shaped face is most narrow at the jawline and chin and broader at the forehead. To complement the narrow jaw, the ideal frame is wider at the top, like the trendy cat-eye sunglasses. Aviators are also a safe bet for those with a heart shaped face.
Sunglasses for Oval Faces
Anything goes for those with oval shaped faces. Lucky you! Size wise, just make sure the glasses don’t slide down the nose or cause discomfort in that area. Also, choose the same colors that look good on you clothing-wise for the best look.
Sunglasses for Square Faces
Women with square shaped faces have strong jawlines and small foreheads. To balance this out, I recommend a circular, rounded frame. A very trendy option is the Leonard II by Illesteva! Try and stay away from square frames which will only exaggerate your features. This means no frames that are flat on the bottom. A frame with a slight curve works best for square faces.
