Magazines, runways, Instagram and other forms of social media can at times alter our style to the point where it is no longer our own. Comfort and sense of self are left on the shelf and the epitome of what is you pursues a look that this or that famous person wore. Instead of letting media dictate your style, simply let it inspire you and what is your style. After all, your style should be a reflection of you and gives the oh so important first impression of you.
The color. Every season is designed a different set of color every year. Wonderful, great and exciting but if that color isn’t one that you even like or let alone feel comfortable in don’t buy it. It’ll be gone and forgotten in a couple months if not even weeks….
The cut. All of the trendy cuts won’t suit your body shape and that is totally fine. Always opt for items that compliment your body shape, not the model on the runway or the singer on stage.
The statement piece. Every year there are those stand out statement pieces that few people could pull off or feel comfortable wearing. If you don’t feel confident in it, don’t force yourself to wear it.
These points being made, let the color, cut and statement pieces of each season inspire you. Incorporate the idea of them into your wardrobe and style. Say red is the color; it is completely fine to go for a red lipstick rather than a coat. The big bomber is the key piece; nothing wrong with picking up a thin silk bomber instead that doesn’t make you look like a marshmallow.
Let the world inspire you rather than transform you. You should remain you.
