With summer fast approaching, it’s time to get prepared for warm poolside and beachside vacations in summer style. The heat is coming and you want to be ready to have an incredible summer this year. But what will you need?
The first place to start is a cute swimsuit, obviously. Before the beginning of the summer, treat yourself to a new bikini, trendy one piece, or other suit of your choice. You should also invest in a cute cover up for when you’re not tanning or in the water. Rompers are trending this year and are super convenient if you’re not a fan of dresses or skirts. If you don’t already have one, an oversized bag is perfect for lugging all of your things back and forth. Pick a bright color for the summer to lighten up any outfit.
Sunscreen are essential to avoid sunburns. It’s important to know how damaging the sun can be to our skin – particularly during warmer months and when we are exposed for longer periods of time. Make sure you are reapplying your sunscreen often and put a higher SPF on your face where your skin is most sensitive. To add style to sun protection, accessorize with your favorite sunglasses and a fun hat – a baseball cap, floppy straw hat, anything that protects your face! Keep your skin looking young and fresh as long as possible by protecting it from sun damage.
If you’re bored of your typical flip flop, swap them for a pair with some designs or patterns. You can mix it up even more by wearing wedge sandals instead. They make your legs look longer and are just as convenient to quickly slip on your feet. However, make sure to avoid any shoes that will get damaged if a bit of water gets on them – it happens!
For the evening or whenever you aren’t planning on going in the water – be comfortable yet stylish by wearing a lace bralette instead of your usual bra. Without underwire that regular bras have, they provide a lift without digging into your skin. This is especially useful if you have a bit of a sunburn from being out in the sun all day. Bralettes come in a variety of colors so you can coordinate them with any outfit you choose, day or night.
Wearing jewelry while lounging by the water is perfectly okay as long as you don’t wear it in the water. Doing so can damage the luster and is just a bad idea. But outside of the water, it can polish your look. Wear items with nautical or sea-life motifs such as anchors, seashells or starfish. Toe rings, though very old-school, have been making a comeback and are perfect for drawing attention to your recently done pedicure.
Following these tips will ensure you have a memorable summer vacation. So tell us where you’re going and how you plan to boost your summer style.
