‘Athleisure’ clothing has become a new booming market in the fashion industry. Leggings are now acceptable as pants (thank goodness) and baggy sweatshirts are totally in, but how can you look “put together” while getting ready to get your sweat on? Here are a few tips how:
When in doubt, wear black
You can never go wrong with a good all black workout outfit. It looks super sleek and chic and definitely looks like you have your life together. Honestly if you show up wearing an all black outfit – leggings, tank, sports bra, sweatshirt, and running sneakers – you will literally look like you walked out of Women’s Health workout magazine. Its a no brainer.
Patterns
Now a days there are so many different patterned workout clothes. Cool leggings, bright tops, and vibrant sports bra, but I think the key to this is pick one. Don’t wear three different patterns… you are asking for a headache and to get stared at negatively. Choose a cool pair of leggings with a solid colored top that matches. Then if you throw on a jumper over it or a bomber you’re good for the day.
Messy Hair Don’t Care
Let’s be honest, good hair days and gyms do not get along well. So my suggestion is to just embrace it. Throw your hair in french braids or a messy bun. Another suggestion is a fun headband. One of these hairstyles will let you rock your “I just worked out” look all day, without looking like an animal.
Sometimes, we just love wearing leggings 7 days a week and not our jeans and that is now totally socially acceptable. (Yay small victory!) I love to wear my workout clothes all day even though I mostly go to the gym at night, but with the right pairing and the right accessories you can look good and be comfy all day long!
