The 4 years (give or take) spent in college can become of the best years of your life. It is my belief that the time spent in college should be a time of adventure, happiness, and self-discovery–while still making time for school and academics. This, however, is not always the case. Many students allow themselves to become so bogged down with work, school, and student loan payments that they allow themselves to miss out on many college opportunities. Lucky for you, I’m here with a guide for making the best of the next four years of your life! Whether you’re a freshman craving adventure, or a senior trying to catch up on lost time, here are a few things to add to your to-do list before you graduate college!
20 Things You Must Do Before Graduating College
- Attend a rager! You would be surprised the number of people who have not attended a party by their senior year.
- Pull an all-nighter with friends
- Experience welcome week.
- Join a random club.
- Talk to someone you like (you never know what could happen!)
- Take a day and explore your campus
- Sleep in the library, or an academic building.
- Make a physical change. This could range from cutting your hair to getting a meaningful tattoo!
- Ace an exam (this one might be a bit more difficult)
- Eat in every dining hall on campus. This might be an easier feat on college campuses with only one or two dining halls. Luckily, my campus has 9!
- Go on a road trip with your friends or significant other.
- Sneak into an academic building after hours.
- Go to lunch with a professor. You never know what kind of advice or knowledge they might have to offer!
- Eat at all of the restaurants in your college town
- Make friends with a professor! This could come in handy when it’s time to submit references and recommendations for jobs and internships your senior year.
- Sit in on a lecture for a course that you’re not enrolled in.
- Take advantage of the Student Discounts (you’re not in college forever–might as well take advantage of the perks while you can)
- Attend a major sporting event! While I’m not a huge football person, at the University of Michigan, attending a football game is essentially a rite of passage.
- Attend an intramural event! These events, like volleyball and lacrosse, are often free for students, and are a great way to show school spirit!
- Sleep in a different bed or place every night for a week.
