I am a true believer in that inspiration comes from out surroundings. Your home being the place you spend most of your time, therefore, plays a key role in your overall wellbeing. Staring at a blank wall will not stimulate you any more than staring at a dead plant or cloudy sky. Walls are often forgotten about when it comes to designing the inside of your home, the focus instead being laid on furniture and accessories. In order to create an eclectic and cohesive space, all aspects of the area must be shown some love.
- Paint. Paint can make a huge difference in transforming the mood of your space. Going for something dark will add drama, something neutral will add finesse and something bold will make a statement.
- Wallpaper. This is similar to paint but if you, for example, want to keep your colours simple try adding pattern to add interest without straying from your colour scheme. Considering the plethora of wallpapers there are to choose from, you are bound to find some you like. If patterns aren’t your thing, wallpaper can add beautiful and subtle texture to a room if you choose something with dimension.
- Art. Choosing a piece of art that truly speaks to you is bound to brighten your mood every time you lay your eyes on it. The way you place the art will also have an effect. You can place it on a shelf, compose together a gallery wall or let one piece speak entirely for itself.
Be careful as to not over-clutter your walls since it will confuse the eye when there is too much to look at. Keep it to a minimum by only giving pieces you truly love a place. Other than that, have fun with it and let your walls speak for and to you.
